Popped in for breakfast on our road trip as it was recommended. Food was fresh and tasty. If you get the waffle (fun Texas shape) be sure to try the Dutch honey. Hand pies were still warm when I got one to go. Friendy staff. A hidden gem

My wife was looking for a place to grab lunch on our road trip from Wyoming back to Texas. She found the best place to eat! The Front Porch is 5 stars! The best lunch and I’m sure the best breakfast! The restaurant beams with pride of ownership and is an oasis like no other. The chicken fried steak was excellent! The mashed potatoes were perfect! The homemade bread is so tasty! Then…dessert. We tried the chocolate chip cookies and they are fantastic, but we had the (and I quote my wife) “best piece of pie I have ever had in my life!” They change their desserts regularly, but if you ever get a chance to have their Carmel-pecan-coconut-cream cheese pie you don’t want to miss it!
They have been open for four years. We have driven past this place 8 times since we go to Wyoming every year. Boy have we been missing out. If you are driving through Texline, you will not be disappointed if you stop here. We won’t pass it again, we are stopping in from now on!
Absolutely loved the experience and the food!

Great delicious food. We ordered bacon and cheeseburger and chicken salad. Fresh ingredients. Try the fried pies! The peach one we got was perfect and not too sweet.

Perfect little road trip stop with tasty, homemade food and nice service. We had a southwest burger with tots and the chicken fried chicken special that came with a side salad, mashed potatoes w/gravy, and a slice of homemade wheat bread w/jam. It all absolutely hit the spot! There is ample parking for large trucks and RVs, which is a bonus.

I had the Bacon and Egg sandwich; very delicious. I also had the biscuits with Gravy; it came warm to cold so it was just okay. I definitely would go back there. I noticed that people were ordering the pancakes and French toast so I’ll try that with a bacon egg sandwich. Service was a bit slow because one cook was cooking at the time but it wasn’t too big of a deal. The young server was very nice and attentive. We were there on 01/02/24.

We stopped on our way through town on a roadtrip. The staff are so friendly and helpful when we asked if we could get the food to go. The french fried and tater tots along with our burgers were cooked to perfection.
But I have to rave about their Strawberry Rhubarb pie. It is probably the best pie Ive ever had in my life. It was not too sweet and had big pieces of fruit. The crust was perfect. Make sure to get yourself a slice of the pie if you visit!

Excellent, simple, homemade country food. I had the fried chicken special. Drink, chicken cutlet, mashed potatoes, gravy, salad and bread. All homemade and fresh ($11).
Finished with the chocolate cake. Just like Grandma used to make. Soooo good. A great place to stop for a rest while on the road.
We had our dog with us, and they had shaded tables outside for us to sit.

We usually stop in Dalhart for lunch when we drive to Colorado, but the great reviews here persuaded us to try something different. Boy, are we glad we did. Friendly service, nostalgic but updated cafe. Burgers, fries, and tots were fresh and delicious. Homemade ranch dressing was amazing. They had a nice selection of salads if you’re looking for something healthy. Open for breakfast and lunch during the week.
