My man and I were on a motorcycle ride, and starving. Not only was the food absolutely phenomenal but this man’s service for being all by himself on a Friday night was top notch. It was our first time in there, he was friendly, guided us through the experience and recommended his brisket pizza and it was the a hundred. That was one of the vest pizzas I’ve ever had, and their fries were delicious. We were served quickly and respectfully. Ps. We were starving and didn’t think to take pics until we were halfway through the meal.

No more stopping for McDs and BK as we pass through Emporia on our road trips! Husband and I decided to try something other than fast food on our way back home yesterday, and we ended up at Val’s New York Pizza
Husband got the Italian Sub, I customized a grilled chicken sub, and we ordered some zepolles to-go. We were both starving after 6 hours on the road, but could only finish half of our subs! (Should’ve done a size comparison of our hands to the subs in the pics)
The place itself was far from sparkly and luxurious and to be honest we were unsure what we were getting into when we first showed up, but we shouldn’t have judged the book by its cover!
The waitress was friendly and funny, she had just started 2 days prior after bumping into the owner at Walmart who got to talking and convinced her to come work with them!
The owner came up and talked to us for a bit, he used to be a Hampton Roads local and worked at many of the pizza places around town before moving to Emporia and opening his own place.
The cook also came by at the end to make sure we liked what we had and asked if he could’ve/ should’ve done anything different to make it better.
I only noticed our waitress, the owner, and the cook running the place while we were there but they were having a great time talking to eachother, with us, and with the locals that had stopped in.
The owner said he had opened about 5/6 months ago and asked me to let others know about them. I’m sure with more business they would be able to invest in updating the interior of the building, so for the time being just focus on the good food and great company!

A fantastic pizza! Fresh ingredients and perfect crust. The subs at the next table over looked great, too, and the folks were raving about them. Super nice guy running the place! I live an hour away but will drive here for this pizza.

I had 10 wings honey Dijon they were the best wings I’ve ever had. Also had the Italian sub. And let me tell you I cannot eat it all it was so huge and delicious. Definitely will be my go-to place twice a week when I stay here. Definitely recommend this place.

Nice owner but the food was mediocre at best. This is NOT New York style pizza. The cheese didn’t seem to be fresh and the crust need work. I also ordered the deluxe philly cheesesteak. This too was just ok. The mushrooms tasted like the ones from a jar or can and the green peppers were nearly raw. The Philly steak was topped with sooo much lettuce, it turned it into a philly salad. All that said, if the total wasn’t nearly $40 for a 14in cheese pizza and a Philly Cheesesteak, I wouldn’t be so disappointed. Definitely not worth it!

Very welcoming, family-oriented place. Most importantly, of course, great pizza! It came out quickly and was huge, and they didn’t skimp on the toppings. Crust was perfect–crispy but with a slight bend. Ditch the chains and go give this place a shot!

My husband and I spent most of our lives in the Philly area, so we know cheese steaks…wit or witout (Philly speak!). I have to say, we were both so pleasantly surprised. First, the cheese steaks were HUGE! And the meat was seasoned to perfection. This is probably the best cheese steak we’ve had in quite awhile. And the french fries were delicious! We will most certainly be back.

Delicious food with a lot of diversity. The owner truly aims to please. I’ve been coming here for years now. I recommend those who haven’t tried this place or new to the area to stop by and give it a chance.

As a New Yorker I was excited to try the food once my husband shared his positive experience. He’d gone with co-workers and was blown away by the size of the pizza. Of course, I told him “That’s a New York Style pizza!”. I had the opportunity to try the food today and couldn’t wait. The owner and staff were pleasant and treated me like a long lost friend….. costumer service A+! The Deluxe pizza and Hot Wings were great! I’d recommend stopping by and enjoying the food as well as the conversation.

Food was awesome and priced fairly you definitely get what you pay for i got the family size calzone and it was huge. Could definitely use a update on the building and tables but considering where it’s located and so many businesses going out I’m hals they are able to keep it open. So if you get the chance it is definitely worth going to even if you just get it to go. I’ve only been once but I’ll definitely be going back soon
