I have never had bad service or bad food here. I’ve been every time I’ve been to Mtn. View in vacation. Last night I had the bbq brisket sandwich. I’ve had weightloss surgery and I don’t eat more than a small child does. They were more than happy to accommodate me and make me a child size with child size price too! The meat had an amazing smoky flavor. It was so delicious, that tonight I’m going back to get me another one for supper!!! The coleslaw that came with ot was nice and refreshing. And the fried green tomatoes and ranch were soooo good!!! There is sort of a new crew that owns the place now. And they are so sweet! Take the time out to actually talk to them at a time when they aren’t super busy! And if you do not like something, please inform them! They will do right by it and fix it for you!!!
ETA: I came back tonight and got another brisket sandwich. Plus I ordered fried pickles. Normally I never eat pickles. And I have never found fried pickles I like. But OMG!!! Theirs is soooo freaking good!!!

The pork sandwich is excellent. It needs extra sauce so ask. The pork was so tender and juicy! The French fries are real home made like sliced potato wedges with the perfect balance between crunchy and soft. The French fries are the best I have had since McDonald’s ruined theirs in the 1980s when they switched to vegetable oil for frying. Also the fried cherry pie was excellent. Baked beans were canned and potato salad is not homemade.
The service is excellent though you order at a counter rather than waitress.

Excellent smoked bbq!
Bbq sandwich is super delicious. Meat is very tender and flavorful. The freshly made burgers are a must! Seasoned patties topped to order. Hot and yummy. Fried green tomatoes were hot and well made. Service was friendly and attentive. Indoor, screened porch, and outdoor seating. Very clean.
Definately going back.

I’ve been there a couple of times when I visit mountain view the brisket is very flavorful but this time here I ended up with way too much fat underneath that meat that was unable it was too bad half my plate was just pure fat but other than that if you get a good plate of food it’s very flavorful

This is a simple no frills BBQ joint. We ordered the BBQ sandwich with hot BBQ sauce and cole slaw. This is the BBQ we have been searching for our entire vacation. The hot sauce is spicy enough to have a kick but not hot enough to melt your taste buds. The slaw is just creamy enough to be sauced well and the perfect amount was on the sandwich to provide a nice textural counterpoint. The pulled pork was tender, flavorful, and beautifully smokey and piled perfectly on a well toasted bun. Service was quick and friendly. The kin folk know their BBQ and we will be back before we leave town.

We had originally went across the street to the ice cream shop for ice cream, but they had a sign up that said “Be right back.” After waiting about 15 minutes, we met another group who had been waiting almost an hour, and they told us Kin Folks BBQ had ice cream also.
So, we went across the street and got our ice cream there, and it was so good! They had about 8 hand-dipped flavors in fresh waffle cones or cups, and the servings were huge! The people were friendly and prices very good also! We will definitely be back next time we are in Mt View!

This was the worst experience of bad food in this town. Came in at 7:30. They close at 8:00. No fries. No poppers. No sausage. The worst bbq nachos of all time. The worst ribs ever. Tasted like they used liquid smoke. Ran by teenagers. Seemed like sweet girls, but no customer service. Took my order wrong then asked for 3 dollars extra. NO PROBLEM. Since you had nothing good to eat. My bologna sandwich was edible. I mean how can you go wrong with bologna and mustard on a bun. I’m so disappointed in this place. They need to run down to Texas and eat. There taste buds will be blown away!!!! I hope the mom and dad does some restructuring and stays open until 8 as the sign says. We weren’t the only customers to come in and be told we don’t have fries we shut down the fryer. But I guess if your 1 out of 5 places to eat you can afford to be sloppy.
PS I never give bad reviews, that’s how bad it was. We left all our food barely eaten on the table!
