Always love coming here for drinks and lunch whenever we’re out exploring the area in our Jeep. The vibe inside is awesome, the service is super friendly, drinks are reasonably priced and if you’re into whiskey, they give generous pours! If you’re into gaming, they do have machines at the bar and if not, they do have a couple of pool tables and a nice card table with some kind of action always going on, especially on a weekend. The food is the only point that I’ll have to pull back on a star and not because it isn’t good, because it really is but more because it can take forever to get. On our last visit, it took the better part of an hour to get our cheese burger and Valley of Fire burger and that was kind of a bummer. Granted, it was Presidents Weekend and I can be understanding of that but it would have been nice to have been warned it would take that long when placing my order. When I went up to check on it, I just got a nice, “it’ll be up soon”. That said, I would still recommend The Idle Spur as a stop if you’re in the area and if only because it really is a fun place to be.

Great place to get away! Within an hour outside of Vegas this great bar is in the small town, Sandy Valley Nevada. Fun fact , the movie Casino shot footage here for the actual movie scene Very comfortable old Vegas vibe inside and out. Great bartenders, specially the young down to earth man working late nights! Really attentive and interactive with all the patrons that frequent here. Very easy going great bar with pool tables, stage for and old-school gambling machines (not arcade style like Vegas has). Snack Shack outside has great food too! Definitely a place all can relax, be themselves and have a great time at, no matter what the occasion may be! Anytime I get around Las Vegas, I love to revisit Idle Spurs, always will!!!

Stopped in for a quick drink after visiting the Sandy Valley Ranch. It appeared to be a popular hang out for locals. The locals and staff were nice and welcoming. They had an AMI jukebox. Drinks were inexpensive and served in a red solo cup. I had the mystery shot #3 for $1.

Feels like a down-home, Everyone knows everyone super friendly bar and the drinks are dirt cheap. The food is from the food truck next-door and is great quality as well. You order and then they bring it into the bar where you’re sitting. I would highly recommend this bar to anybody coming to visit Sandy valley. Feels like the old west.

The vibe, menu and the atmosphere is outstanding and its the go to place in the area. Staff is superbly hospitable and the people around mostly are very friendly locals who are long term loyal customers.
I ended up at this place as I was stranded in this locality after an adventure experience nearby but little did I know that my visit will become so memorable. So much so that my apprehension as a tourist of being stranded at a remote place miles away from my comfortable hotel in Vegas city turned joyous. The lady there named Twisty made me feel so comfortable, offered me coke (for which she even refused payment) and tried for almost an hour to help me get a ride back and eventually succeeded while requesting their long time (local) customer Alfred to drop me off to a place from where I could get an Uber.
Thank you Twisty and Alfred (and his lovely wife). Glad that people like you still exist. Much love.
Will see you again someday!
