We had lunch at the Somerset Cafe today for our father’s 87th birthday and we had a wonderful time! What a lovely setting in the Flint Hills! The service was excellent; the food was fresh and so tasty – best sweet potato fries ever! And then the pie – wow! We had peach, strawberry rhubarb, bluegoose and then pumpkin cheesecake. We are already planning our next trip back to this treasure of a cafe in Dover, KS.

Somerset Cafe is literally a family owned and operated business. Mom cooks, Dad runs the register, and all eleven kids work in various capacities. It is an old building in a quaint small town. The place is very clean with a family atmosphere and ample parking. The pies are SCRUMPTIOUS with very flaky crusts. The chicken pot pie is to awesome! The cafe serves large portions. A must for anyone who is willing to make the drive to this quaint spot!

Hidden gem in Kansas! Friday night dinner was fried chicken, mashed potatoes and corn and WOW was it top notch!! Friendly atmosphere and staff along with world famous pies!! I found this place through a resident I care for & I had to stop to pick her up a slice of raisin crème pie!
