I went here enroute to the airport as I had a good amount of time to do so. My friend said it was a good Caribbean and so I was intrigued to know how things would taste.
The cashier was smiley and friendly. As I was in a chicken mode, I ordered red wine bbq chicken with rice and peas, which came with cabbage and two strips of plantain. I ordered a portion of plantain in addition to this which made my total $35. It sounds quite steep admittedly, especially it was a chicken meal, but hey.
The food didn’t take too long to come, about 10 mins or so from ordering which is decent. I decided to eat in in the end, and glad i did to fully enjoy the food. The food tasted amazing, the flavours were top tier, the only thing I’d say is that it could have been hotter in temperature, so it could cool down as time went on, but it came out just above lukewarm.
The portion size was a lot! I probably could have split the meal in all honesty or taken some home but where I’m enroute to the airport wasn’t an option.
I will definitely be saving this place for my next trip. I want to try some more of their dishes.
It was my 1st and last time here. I’m a vegetarian so I usually just order sides when I dine out but this place happened to have tofu so I gave it a try.
It was disgusting but this isn’t the only place with terrible tofu, I was most upset about the mac and cheese and supposed cabbage.
As you can see per the pictures it looks like coleslaw without sauce instead of cabbage and the Mac and cheese looks and taste like something out of a box.
I usually don’t leave bad reviews, if I don’t like a place I just never go back, but because I drove 20 minutes to get here and paid over $30 for my stuff I felt the need to.
I ate as much as I could before throwing it out.
However, this last visit was disappointing. I ordered jerk chicken and curry chicken, and instead of drumsticks, thighs, or breast pieces, we were given cubed meat without any notice. That’s not the standard cut most customers expect when ordering chicken, and it should absolutely be communicated beforehand.
To make matters worse, my husband ate the curry chicken and had an upset stomach for two days afterward. I’m not sure if this was just an off day, but it definitely raised concerns for us.
I’m leaving this review because I’ve been a consistent customer and I want to keep supporting the business. But please, if you’re changing the cut of meat, let customers know before serving it. Transparency matters — especially when people are driving long distances and spending significant money to dine with you.
They didn’t have coconut shrimp when I visited.
Also, for vegetarians, they’ve got you covered 100% They delivered a complete and satisfying experience.
