We had an amazing evening at the castle! The atmosphere was one of a kind and the service was wonderful! We are at the h Chophouse and decided to try their steaks. We had the beef wellington which was “holy cow”, the meat was tender and the flavor was spectacular! We also had the T-Bone steak, which you really will not find anywhere else, cooked perfectly, incredible size (we had three meals out of it), buttery “melt in your mouth”. The appetizer was a baked brie au fruits rouge, that was wrapped in a puffed pastry and exceeded our expectations! The French onion soup had a puff pastry top that was crispy and crackly on top with beef stock soaked in caramelized onions…incredible! We also had the creme brulee (Don’t miss it!) and the chocolate cake (very decadent). Overall, Amazing!!!

Well, I’ve left a review on my past experience with the hotel……. one star if you’re curious. Now its been some years, decided to give it one more chance, went for an early dinner, and I swear, I couldn’t make this up, I had a whole WORM in my vegetables, showed the waitress, she took it and gave me a new fork and asked if everything else was good, I told her to inform the chef (the owner), he said he didn’t see anything, I told the waitress to bring the bill, they took off my vegetables from the bill. We spent time at this place yesterday. I only took one picture. The bar. Great service and deliciously mixed cocktails.
Food was spectacular- I had the Beef Wellington and my husband had the Salmon. Both cooked to perfection. Our server and the staff were amazing! Thank you, we will be back.

Editing my review as I was contacted regarding my initial unfortunate experience and they worked to rectify one of the issues which I appreciate.
I’ll again give compliments to our server. He was kind, courteous, and attentive.
I’ll also add that desert portion of our meal was wonderful as were the chocolate covered strawberries.

Our server wasn’t very knowledgeable and had to keep asking a different server for each answer- maybe she was new, but didn’t mention it. One of the people in our group ordered the beef wellington, but got a steak instead. She decided to keep it because it took so long to get it in the first place. The other ordered a medium steak and got it basically well done, but again, kept it because it took so long to get our dinner to begin with. I ordered a bone-in ribeye, and when it arrived, it smelled terrible/rancid. I thought it was just me, but everyone at the table could smell it from where they were sitting. I ended up sending it back and eating a few bites from the others. My daughter wanted the chocolate cake on the menu, but they didn’t have it. It was my daughter’s 15th birthday and she requested we come here for dinner months ago and was so excited! We drove almost 2 hours each way from where we live, just to be super disappointed. We came here for the first time last year and had a similar experience, but we thought maybe it was just a glitch. Turns out, it was not. I will say the atmosphere is nice (although the room was freezing, so we had to move to a different room), and the man who seated us and took our coats/pulled out our chairs was excellent. (Main reason my daughter loved it so much the first time). However, we won’t be coming back again after this.

RESPONSE TO OWNER:
I am updating this review because the owner’s public response above contradicts the threatening private messages I received from them minutes prior.

While the owner’s response here appears polite, the ending contains a veiled threat: “We have pulled footage of the consumption… and will reply accordingly.” This aligns with a text message I received from management immediately after posting this, where they described my physical appearance and location (“2 males one large and one small against the tower wall”) and threatened legal action.

To answer the owner’s question: No, I am not looking for reimbursement. I am leaving a genuine review of a poor experience.

Regarding why we did not complain in the moment: It was the end of a chaotic night, and we saw how overwhelmed the staff was. We simply did not want to add more pressure to an already struggling floor team.
About the “footage of consumption”: We ate the food because we had pre-paid over $200 for a non-refundable event. We chose not to waste expensive food despite it being cold and the service being absent. “Cleaning our plates” because of the sunk cost does not mean the food was served at the correct temperature or that the service was acceptable.

Please stop reviewing security footage of your guests to intimidate them and focus that energy on training your floor staff.

Original Review:
While I understand that Valentine’s Day is the busiest night of the year, the “7-course” experience fell significantly short of the price point and expectations for a 8:00 PM reservation.

The Service:

Arrival: We were not greeted upon entry, despite seeing other couples welcomed. We waited 20 minutes past our reservation time to be seated.

Wait Staff: Our server was kind but clearly overstretched, often disappearing for 15-minute intervals. I eventually had to go to the counter physically to settle the bill.

The Food:

Amuse-Bouche: This course was forgotten entirely. Upon request, we were served soggy crostinis that had clearly been sitting out.

Main Course: While the entrees tasted good, the sides were cold. The mashed potatoes were so cold they were physically “stuck” in place on the plate.

Bread & Dessert: The bread arrived both cold and burnt. By the time we reached the end of the meal, the kitchen was out of all but two dessert options.

Cleanliness/Atmosphere:

Our table light kept flickering out, and it wasn’t until the end of the meal that we realized my partner’s water glass was visibly dirty.

The staff seemed to be doing their best under pressure, but the management of the floor and kitchen timing resulted in a very disappointing evening for a premium-priced event.
