Food and service were excellent. This restaurant has changed names a few different times and this review is for it’s most recent iteration Tani (Haru). My original entree choice was not available which is odd being it was the grand opening but the Beef NegiMaki was delicious. I also enjoyed my girlfriends BulGoGi Dinner Box. Food, atmosphere, staff, and location are all incredible.

Amazing place to eat, highly reccomend eating outside! They have a full garden with insanely tall bamboo and giant koi pond. The waitress even gave us a small cup of fish food to feed them! Got to wall around the grounds while waiting for the food so the wait didn’t even feel like we waited! Good prices for bentos and they offer hibachi as well of course!

The staff came by my office and offered samples of their food. It was really good, so we decided to order a couple more times and was not disappointed. Definitely reccomend if you’re in the area.

My go to place for lunch during week, regardless of weather. It’s comfortable inside during colder days and beautiful outside by the Koi pond during warmer times. It’s usually pretty quiet during lunch time throughout the week which I enjoy as I get attentive service, quick delicious food, and my check as soon as I ask for it.
I usually get the bento box, chicken teriyaki, Katsu, or shrimp tempura but have had seasame chicken, chicken pad Thai, California, philly and avocado rolls during my multiple visits and have always enjoyed each dish!
I mean honestly? If you’re like me and work in Valhalla- a place that is basically devoid of life and options- pickings are slim; but Hida manages to give me something to look forward to when I want to sit down and enjoy my lunch break vs Wendy’s drive-thru which is great when I want to be an unhealthy fatty that shoves baconator fries down my throat to combat an abnormally tough day and I’m crunched for time.
TL;DR: place is beautiful inside and out, service is great, food is tasty and prices are affordable. Definitely a great place to take friends for hibachi, a date to impress or to eat by your lonesome!

Not a pleasant experience. The waitress was very slow and missing in action. The chef had good intentions and attitude but he put way too much soy sauce in everything and made the food too salty. Also, the order in which he plated was completely off. Lastly, the vent hood didn’t work properly and we all smell like hibachi. As a result, I’ll have to take my coat to the dry cleaners and wash all my clothes ASAP. Not to mention I’m taking a shower once I get home. Price wise, it was very expensive for the quality of food you get.

I have been here several times and the food was always great and chefs always entertaining. I went here last week for my daughter’s birthday and it was sadly disappointing. Staff was confused, no bartender and language barrier. The food was not good. The sauces were gross and the noodles were weird tasting. Portions much smaller and no more shrimp app with habachi. It’s new owners as I was told by staff and I can only assume that is why the portions and quality of food has declined

It took over an hour for the food to be served, not that there were many customers available. A handful of tables is all. And even then, about 3 out of my lunch party of 11 didn’t get served for an extra 20 minutes or so. Worse, they got one order wrong and had to spend more time getting a new one ready.
This should be a 1 star. The food was good but not worth the stress. I had a second appointment that day, for which I was super late.
The second star is because albeit the horrible service, the place is definitely beautiful.
