The upstairs patio was the highlight for ambiance. Sitting there during Open Air Latin Weekend was such a nice time.
If I had to mention one small drawback, it would be the Caesar salad starter. It was beautifully presented as a single grilled heart of romaine, but it felt more like an individual portion than something to share.. and kinda messy to eat on a small counting board. Other than that, everything was nice.
However, I think the restaurant could take a closer look at the tuna tartare, the spaghetti with seafood, and the ravioli. These dishes didn’t quite meet the same standard and could benefit from a bit more refinement in flavor and presentation.

The service was top tier—friendly, attentive, and perfectly timed throughout the night. You can tell the staff truly care about creating a great experience.
Being right on the waterfront made it even more special. After dinner, we enjoyed a beautiful walk.
Highly recommend Pepper Cat for anyone looking for an unforgettable meal in a stunning location!
Food: 3/5
The appetizers were amazing, with no misses. The standout was the PEI mussels, but all apps were thoroughly enjoyed.
For mains, everyone in the party got a different meat dish. While they were all visually appealing, each dish was almost inedible due to the amount of salt. Steaks, especially thicker cuts, require a heavy hand with salt, but it quickly becomes overwhelming if the pan sauce is also heavily salted, which I suspect in my case that it was.
Desserts were mostly ok. We really enjoyed the crème brûlée, and the “lava cake” dessert was fine, but a little cold in the centre.
Service: 3/5
I’ll start by saying that there was nothing overtly wrong with our service. Everyone we interacted with was very friendly, including our main server.
I have two critiques on the service: the water service was very slow, to the point where we needed to put our empty water glasses at the edge of the table to get a refill. It’s not the end of the world, but just a small detail that separates good service from amazing service (among other things).
The main service was also somewhat slow and just generally absent throughout the evening. I understand wanting to give your tables space to converse amongst themselves, but it felt at times that we just weren’t able to locate our server if we wanted more water, or had a question about something on the menu.
Atmosphere/Ambiance: 5
It’s a really cool spot. The interior is small, with maybe only ~10 tables, with dim lighting. It’s a really cool date night spot, or even a nice spot for larger parties of 6-8 people.
Overall: 3.5/5
I would definitely return. It is most certainly on the pricier side, but it’s worth it. You can tell they really care about putting out really quality food, and the price is reflective of that, with portions also being very generous.
My critiques of the service were nit-picky and not world ending, but the salt levels on the steaks were definitely a disappointment and would be my only hesitation in returning.
