The place is nice and the service was good — the staff was attentive and polite throughout our visit.
The food was okay, but honestly it wasn’t quite what I expected. I may have had higher expectations based on the reputation. Still, I appreciate the effort and the overall experience.

We had a great experience at Blaze on Fire Restaurant. From the moment you arrive, the place feels welcoming and well taken care of. Parking was easy, which is always a plus in this area.
The atmosphere inside is cozy and inviting, perfect for enjoying a relaxed meal. The food truly stands out with authentic Peruvian flavors, well prepared, and beautifully presented. You can tell there’s attention to detail and respect for traditional cuisine.
Overall, it’s a great addition to Hackensack and definitely worth visiting if you’re looking for quality Peruvian food in a comfortable setting.

Blaze on Fire brings bold Peruvian cuisine with a Nikkei (Japanese–Peruvian) fusion to Hackensack. The menu is extensive, offering everything from traditional Peruvian dishes to sushi, ceviche, and grilled specialties.
The leche de tigre ceviche is one of the best I’ve had, especially when paired with the California roll. The churrasco steak was incredibly tender and well marinated.
Standout items include the A Lo Pobre Maki Roll with sausage, fries, and avocado inside, topped with beef and sweet plantains; classic chaufa Peruvian fried rice; causa with perfectly layered, creamy potatoes; multiple styles of lomo; and deeply marinated pollo a la brasa cooked rotisserie-style.
They also offer a full ceviche bar, sushi bar, and Nikkei Bar, along with homemade juices like chicha morada and passion fruit. Parking is available in the back.

Had a fantastic experience at Blaze last night! Great ambience and the food was delicious!! We ordered the fried fish appetizer, the mixed ceviche, spicy tuna roll, and Peruvian seafood paella. Beautiful presentation and very tasty! Will definitely be back. They are Byob fyi. Staff was very attentive. A must try if you are a foodie like us! There is so much to try.

I recently visited Blaze on Fire Restaurant & Grill, conveniently located on Main Street in Hackensack. While the location is easy to find, be aware that there is no on-site parking — only street parking is available.
Unfortunately, my overall experience was very disappointing. I truly enjoy Peruvian cuisine and was looking forward to a flavorful and authentic meal. However, this restaurant fell short in terms of quality, preparation, and the vibrant flavors that typically define Peruvian food.
I ordered the grilled salmon, which arrived overcooked and completely lacking seasoning. My wife ordered the rice with seafood, and sadly, it also had little to no flavor or proper seasoning. As a side, I originally ordered mashed potatoes but was brought white rice instead. When I informed the server about the mistake, I was told they had run out of mashed potatoes — something that should have been communicated before serving the dish. I then requested fried ripe plantains, which was apparently the only other side available.
To make matters worse, after the food was served, the waiter never returned to our table to check on us or see if we needed anything else. The lack of attentiveness only added to an already poor dining experience.
Overall, this was a terrible meal and a very disappointing experience. Based on this visit, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

First time here & I will definetly be back! Tried their Lomo saltado and Rotisserie chicken & it was one of the bests dishes I’ve had in a while! Great portions. Welcoming staff, beautiful decor & amazing food! My family and I will be back for sure!

Juan and the other servers were so delightful, the customer service was fantastic. I read feedback on google and yelp about how the service was subpar, and it seems they took note and changed! many servers came up to us to ensure our experience was satisfactory and it was! the food was delicious! Another issue I read that made me hesitant to make a visit, “food took too long”. after I ordered I set a timer. we ordered 3 dishes and 2 out of the 3 came out in 8 minutes. now don’t expect the same experience because they were relatively empty, maybe half capacity but overall it was a fun and enjoyable experience. I will come back and recommend this place to others.

Had lunch today at Blaze on Fire and they did not disappoint! The food is authentic Peruvian and everything was fresh and delicious. We started with the ceviche which was spot on, then shared the rotisserie chicken, and also tried the green pasta with steak—each dish full of flavor and perfectly prepared.
The hospitality was just as good as the food—our server made sure we knew about all the specials and always checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to and highly recommend if you’re looking for quality Peruvian food in the area.

I had an amazing experience. The moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt perfect — the music was just the right volume, not too loud or too low, creating a great vibe to enjoy the meal.
Our server, Juan, was incredibly friendly and attentive. He made sure we had everything we needed and truly added to the experience with his kindness.
And the food… absolutely delicious! Every single dish was full of flavor — you can really tell they put a lot of care into what they serve.
