I finally had the pleasure of eating at Nancy’s. We enjoyed the food, and our server was friendly and attentive. Although the menu clearly stated “prices subject to change” I kind of felt “duped” with some of the items I ordered.
For example: side salad, which was on the menu for 4.00 and change consisted of iceberg lettuce, onions, black olives and croutons. When I got the check it was 6.95. Didn’t think good price value for what it was. I was also shocked at how they priced toppings on pizza. Lastly, the sliver of carrot cake, which was perfect, was delicious but I would not have paid 9.00 had I asked. I will visit again however I will ask for “todays” prices so I can make an informed decision.

We visited Nancy’s Towne House on a Saturday night and got lucky with the last table for two (quite small) at 5:30 pm. By 5:45pm, it was a full house (bar seating taken too!), so this place is clearly a local favorite! We went with the original large cheese pizza. While the sauce didn’t quite hit the mark for me personally, I’d still rate it a solid 7.9 (Dave Portnoy gave it an 8.8!). The Buffalo wings were stellar & definitely a highlight. Shoutout to Arielle, the manager, who was quick and on top of everything, and to Chloe, our sweet waitress, who gave great advice and told us a large pizza and Buffalo wings would be more than enough; she was right! The charm of the place (it gave me New England vibes, maybe Maine?) is the perfect backdrop to a cozy, enjoyable experience. Can’t wait to come back and try the Drunken Chicken Parm! Highly recommend this spot 🙂

This is your quintessential NJ pizza spot (Portnoy agrees too)! Red checkered tablecloths, mismatched chairs and basement vibes leave it all up to the quality of the pizza to tell the story! And it SURE DOES! An incredible thin crust pie, sauce was perfectly sweet paired with a nice crunch from the dough. Make sure to get a side of hot honey, and don’t worry, the beers come in pitcher sizes too! Plus prices are super fair, a large pie for less than $15. This is what pizza shops need to aspire to!

Thin crust was mid from taste to texture, IMO. Flop was noticeable, but crust was crunchy.

Buffalo wings were mid too. No taste of buffalo sauce in the wings.

Glad I got it out of my way to visit though, as it’s been in my bucket list for a while. Will be back in the distant future

Very disappointed.

Spaghetti in clam sauce was watery, and bland. Honestly, worst I’ve ever had out at a restaurant.

Pizza is fine. Nothing to rave about.

I don’t get the appeal. Will not go back again.

The crust is thin, crunchy and flaky. Base is dry but not burnt. Cheese and sauce is good, cheese was a bit lighter on one of my pies. I think my pizzas didn’t come out as good as some others I see posted on here. One of mine had more cheese than the other too. Good plain pies but I feel like the crust is what makes it different, cheese and sauce do not really stand out. The restaurant has a unique bar feel, parking lot in the back is small.

Super cute little Italian restaurant. Loved the pizza and all the appetizers we tried. Service was welcoming and kind, everything was handled even though it was super busy and we were a big party. Would recommend! Probably make a reservation though because it was a week night and still packed.

Awesome place, probably the crispiest crust that I’ve ever eaten.more than just pizza this place but of course I had their pizza, also ordered some garlic bread which was delicious. Service was great, prices were ridiculously low and pizza was excellent. Definitely a place to visit!

Ordered two pizzas for take out on a Friday night. The place has such character, and you can imagine not much has changed in the past 40 years or so. It was packed, but I do hope to go and dine in some day. We went to the end of the bar to get our pizzas, and they were awesome. SUPER thin, crisp/crackery bit of crust. Awesome flavor to the sauce, cheese, and the fresh toppings. Definitely worth a trip to experience this gem!

We had a take out pepperoni pie that we ate at the Wet Ticket Brewery’s beergarden (located a few doors down or next door) during a concert of the Pennyless Loafers. What made me think about going back to Nancy’s Towne House is the good vibes I got when picking up the pizza( thin crust, crisspy, freshly made) and the stories told by a Rahway native and her date dining there while we wait for our order pick up. It’s an old school Italian kitchen. Definitely, a gem hidden in plain sight. Courteous; down-to-earth staff. I can only talk about the Rome style thin crust pizza but soon should be able to try other dishes. Until then, I’ll hold my horses.
