We were at Galaxycon and took a break to grab a bite. Stumps was about 2 blocks away. The owner greeted us at the door and proceeded to seat us in a semi-private room. Her husband Jimmy then came in and chatted with us. Told us about his joint.. how it got their name. He was quite a hoot. Gave us his Galaxycon drink special. Between him, his wife and our actually waitress we got quite the service. We ordered their appetizer sampler, which was quite delicious. My wife got a BBQ salad and I got the Fried Catfish special. All was great. Great BBQ, Great Vibe and Great Service. Cute little bar off the far end. Check it out, well worth your time.

We had read some good reviews about the brunch here, but were a little disappointed. The food was good, but not exceptional. We had the Down South Omelette and a substitute for the Country Corn Waffles, and both were ok. Prices were fairly decent, but the staff and atmosphere were just ok. Unless it seemed things had improved significantly, we probably wouldn’t return unfortunately.

Came here for dinner and my overall experience was a good one. The dining areas are segmented with only a couple tables in each. Making for a cozy dining experience. The fries where amazing but my brisket was a little dry. No one else at my table had this experience though, so I must have just been unlucky. The service was a little slow but the staff was very nice.

Jimmy is a cool dude. I recently visited for the first time and Jimmy hooked it up! My wife and I split a 3 meat platter so we could try different items. The ribs were my favorite, they did a great job on those. I enjoyed the pulled pork but I wasn’t a huge fan of the sauce (which comes on the side). The brisket was a bit dried out for my liking, but, I’ll definitely give it another go in the future since brisket is hard to perfect. We had the baked beans, mac and cheese, and collard greens. All 3 were great but the beans and collards were awesome, the mac was good too though. Very generous portion sizes! Overall, I’d give them a 4.5 out of 5 if I was able to so I rounded up to 5. 5 for service, 4.25 for the food. Thanks Jimmy!

The first time I went here I liked the food, pulled pork was good. So I took my family with me today. Just got home and our brisket is cold, cold as in the fat is congealed so it was never heated. The potato salad is not a full cup and the cup is already small. At these prices they really need to do better. So disappointed!! We got dessert too so hopefully that’s better.

Really disappointed. We live close by and were excited to have a neighborhood spot to go. I have also heard good things about Stumps but am realizing good reviews were from a year ago or more. Went in to order on the way home and Jimmy was talking inappropriately to me for a business owner. Got home and the food was less than the stellar quality I was hoping for. Brisket was dry and burnt (I do enjoy a good smoked crust and char but not this…this was over cooked). Ribs were the best part, but not great. Don’t recommend the Mac…beet salad was good.

Service is GREAT ! It’s like having dinner with friends. Food is to die for! Grilled Bacon wrapped shrimp was so good but the pineapple basil slaw is amazing! It accompanied the shrimp but next time I will get it as a side! My husband had the smoked wings and let me tell you if you don’t get them you are missing out! My new favorite place to dine downtown!

I stumbled upon this place looking for a new lunch spot. When I entered I was greeted by the owner. I ordered the rocket pops, or something along that line. Absolutely delicious! Smoked rib meat mixed with pimento cheese. It was wrapped in a wonton wrap, then deep fried. It was a culinary masterpiece! I sampled their whole smoked chicken wing. I was in smoky poultry heaven! The finally was a brisket sandwich along with smoked Mac and cheese. By this point I was completely stuffed. I was considering ending my work day to go take a nap. I highly recommend this place.

The pulled pork I had tasted good and the Mac and cheese was great. We also got an accidental order of fries and they were good too. I wish there was more than one BBQ sauce; the sweet hot almost tasted like it had too much cumin (or something else earthy) in it.

Great service by our waitress, but the food left me queasy for the remainder of the day. I ordered the brisket and waffles, which was scorching hot on the outside and cold on the inside (presumably from being microwaved into oblivion). In addition to that, the sauce was incredibly salty and did not taste fresh at all. The waffle was also smothered with an obscene amount of oily sauce, which left it soggy and overpowered. I hate to leave bad reviews, but go somewhere else and avoid the stomach ache.
