Very cool little place in Fort! Been here several times throughout the years. Food has always been excellent! Pasta Rags are a must try. Service has honestly been hit n miss but last night it was spot on. Keep in mind its usually the cook n one server. Its a private like experience. Reservations are required but easy to do on the website. Definitely a must try!!!

I was in the mood for an Italian pasta meal and found Mangiami Italiano online. It said they were open until 8pm on Saturday, so since it was only 6:30, I decided to take a ride over.

From the outside, the place looked inviting.., even had a big free-standing sign on the sidewalk that said OPEN. When I walked in, though, the setting felt dark and dingy. There were about 20 tables total, and only 5 of them were occupied.

I asked for a table for one, and the host asked if I had a reservation. When I said no, I was told they were “reservations only.” I even asked if they were expecting a big rush, given the number of empty tables and more than an hour left before closing, but the answer was still no.

So instead of serving a paying customer, they turned me away. Honestly, what a poor way to run a business, especially when the place was 75% empty. Extremely disappointing experience. I won’t be back

My husband and I were in the area for a family reunion and we lucked onto this restaurant. The service and the food were both fantastic. It’s been 6 months but we are both still extolling the best Italian food we have ever eaten. Thankyou for a great experience.

This was our first time here and my husband and I had a lovely experience. We were able to get a reservation for our valentines dinner due to a cancelation which worked out great for us! The atmosphere was intimate and calming. Our server, Sam, was the only one working the front and did an outstanding job. He was very personable and worked hard to make each guests experience a positive one. Our drinks, appetizer, salad, and main course were delicious and came out fairly quick. We look forward to coming back again and trying more off the menu and some desserts too! We even bought a jar of the homemade marinara sauce and we can’t wait to try it at home. Definitely recommend trying this place if you haven’t yet!

What were we thinking – an Italian Restaurant in Ft. Atkinson? I saw pics online and the food looked better then other restaurants in the area – especially good looked one dish, gnocci in a white sauce with meat & peas, right up my alley. It was in the online & print menus, but we were told by the server its only a seasonal dish – not available! We should have left right then. We didn’t, ending up with 2 plates of macaroni & cheese variants (not great, frozen peas) and a starter of freezer burned perogies. $82 included 2 beers & 2 wines. Were asked if we wanted bread, it wasn’t brought out, nor were bread plates, or balsamic. Wouldn’t eat there again, can’t recommend it, especially with the 45 minute drive from Madison – an expensive bummer. The only plusses: we had a romantic seat in the window — felt some cold air but it was lovely. And my date is ultra foxxy.

An intimate atmosphere to share a leisurely meal!
Our dinners were delicious, generous but not overly so. Enough for take home lunch. Our waiter, Sam, was knowledgeable and attentive.
Chef Eric checked on us as well to insure we were happy with our evening. Would highly recommend Mangiami’s to everyone

Our first experience on New Years Eve was phenomenal. The atmosphere was so cozy and intimate. The service was great, our server was the only one working and he was busting his butt. The food was beyond compare… it tasted like true homemade Italian dishes. You could tell it was made with love and experience. The owner, Eric, came to every table and spoke with the patrons. He really shows his passion for his restaurant and his customers. We can’t wait to dine here again! Highly recommend the goat cheese dip and Arrabbiata pasta. SO GOOD!

This place is truly a treasure hidden in Fort Atkinson. I’ve only had the pleasure of coming here a handful of times (I live out of state now) but it’s always amazing when we’re able to get a reservation. In some of the negative reviews people mentioned the wait time to get food, I however think that’s a huge plus. The wait time was definitely longer than most restaurants I’ve been to but that gave my family and I uninterrupted time to catch up which can be hard when everyone is already eating. It also made me feel good knowing a lot of time and love were going into our meals. The only slight negative i could imagine is the menu can be intimidating if youre a vegetarian. Im assuming the chef is open to making items vegetarian but i didnt ask because the funghi immediately captured my attention and my heart (it was AMAZING) Our server was an absolute pleasure and meeting chef Eric made our meal that much better. If you’re in the mood for delicious, comforting, amazing Italian food you must give this place a try.
