Our server was excellent and very attentive! Unfortunately the menu hasn’t changed since the last time we came here-probably in 2024. It just isn’t the same anymore. This restaurant used to be such a treat with seasonal offerings and great fresh seafood.

We had the Christmas Tea and it was wonderful. I hope they decide to do this more often. Reservations were required for the tea but they are not necessary for the restaurant during regular hours.

Discovered this establishment from a sign on the interstate. Stopped in for lunch. The establishment was very clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was great. We recommend stopping by when you are in the area. We will definitely return when we are in town.

Our server Kale was excellent. Very thorough and attentive. We each tried something different. I had the Cobb salad with Chicken. It had unique corn bread crouton, cranberries, diced sweet potatoes, yummy fresh crumbles bacon bits. The sweet potato were the only part of my meal I was not a fan of. We all tried the salmon Cajun soup. It was good the salmon melted in your mouth. The Class Act burger my son said was easily the best burger he has had. My son’s girlfriend had the Iowa omelet and she said it was yummy. My husband had the corn beef hash he said it was a great from scratch hash.

This restaurant is located in The Hotel at Kirkwood Center, and is a Culinary Arts Program. Elegant decor. Great service and food at a slightly higher price point than a chain, but the students are learning (and we get to eat the rewards of their education). The sticky pork belly was perfectly balanced between sweet, sour, and savory. The special of the day (ribeye) was perfectly cooked, the pork chop, duck, and steak fries were excellent. Will come back when back in town!

Two of us had to send our fillet back we ordered medium rare and they were very well done. They did take care of it. The mashed potatoes were cold. Vegetables were good. The steak texture was off, even though it was done properly the second time. The desserts Were not what was expected. For the price, it definitely was not worth it.

Cedar Rapids — Valentine’s weekend, nice setting, good service, great presentation, tasty. Upscale restaurant, smaller setting(but have additional options for seating). I saw a couple tables that got sandwiches they looked great. It a nice option for date night

I came in there this past Friday for lunch I got the beef prosciutto or whatever and that thing was nasty over salted in my opinion! Sweet potatoes doesn’t mix will with the skirt stake and slimy sauce they used. But I will say the chicken sandwich was juicy but way too small to be considered a full meal. The corn soup was underwhelming but the serve was really nice and did a great job serving me in a timely manner. I paid $36 as a single male. For me brining a family here and spending over $100 is just not worth it for lunch.

I have been coming here for many years but had been a bit since my last visit. Ate twice here during a one night stay and the food was so disappointing. The quality has dropped off significantly compared to a few years ago. My omelet was thin and insubstantial, probably half the size of what I remember from previous visits. For dinner I ordered some shepherds pie type dish and it tasted even worse than it looked. For some reason they did the potatoes in a swirl pattern on top and I honestly thought it looked like a mash potato version of the poop emoji. I had a couple bites then just left…after paying of course 🙂
The servers are always nice, though, so that makes it good enough for a business meal. Just wouldn’t pay my own money to eat here.

First visit to The Class Act. Delicious food, friendly service. Nice atmosphere. The restaurant is located in The Hotel at Kirkwood Center. So, a great location for any special event, meeting, or gathering. In addition to being a nice local restaurant, it’s part of Kirkwood college. For anyone not already familiar with Kirkwood, here are some interesting facts… The 680-acre campus in Cedar Rapids includes a 400-acre working farm, 27 buildings with 1.4 million square feet of interior learning space, and a 15-acre athletic complex. Kirkwood students come from 100 different countries, all over the United States and all 99 Iowa counties. With 14 locations across 7 counties, Kirkwood is the area’s leading provider of accessible, affordable, and exceptional education and training.
