It was my first time dining here. The place is clean and quiet. The empty tables are set beautifully.

It was nice for the chef to give us complimentary egg rolls. Newly cooked and crispy.

We ordered pansit bihon, inihaw na baboy, kare-kare, and halo-halo. The pansit was delicious. Inihaw na baboy with vinegar dip was the winner! Tender and flavourful.
Halo-halo was huge. At least 2 people can eat one serving. The only issue I had was that the crushed ice was not as fine as I thought. It’s not enjoyable to bite big bits of ice. Kare-kare was the order that made me give a 4 star instead of 5 stars. The waiter said they are out of oxtail, but they replace with lechon kawali. It was great right after it was cooked, and the fried pork was crispy. Make sure you finish this and not to go. The lechon kawali turned up soggy, and the fat blended with the over starched gravy. They did put enough vegetables, but pork on kare-kare seems off. I prefer oxtail and tripe to make this more authentic filipino cuisine. Or at least beef chunks.

The food served is freshly prepared, so be patient. I don’t mind coming back here. I still recommend this place.

The best thing about this restaurant is the food. Authentic, generous servings, delicious (except the pork barbecue, it was bland and dry). We had the bicol express, crispy kare kare, aligue rice, and pork bbq.

Real talk – this is the 2nd time I’ve been in this restaurant. The first time, they forgot to give us one of our dessert orders, but it was included in the bill. It’s a good thing we weren’t in a hurry, and decided to just have the order in the restaurant instead of removing it from the bill.

The second time…omg. My friend arrived ahead of us, and he said he waited at the “please wait to be seated” area for 5 minutes. No one approached him so he walked to the counter and asked for a table. The restaurant was not full. When my group was complete, we waited about 10-15 minutes for someone to get our order. No one did, so I looked around and made eye contact with a staff who sent us a server. 30 mins for our food to arrive. It arrived staggered. We ordered 6 items. This time, we didn’t get 2 of the 6 items: the sitaw and kalabasa dish, and the calamansi juice. I think it’s kind of ridiculous. No one reviews the orders and makes sure the customer gets them? We didn’t remind them of it anymore because it took too long to get our orders and we didn’t want to wait anymore.

We ask for the bill TWICE. 15 mins in between. I don’t even know why, they didn’t need to print the receipt, they just had to come to our table with the portable POS system. The second time, they were like, here’s your bill. We pointed out that we didn’t get the two items, so we had to wait for another 5-10 mins for them to sort it out.

Really dampened the experience which is such a shame, because I’m telling you, the food is great! I’m hesitating to come back because of the service. Is there going to be a third time going there? I don’t know, we’ll see if my love for good food will overcome experiencing ineptitude in service.

This place is kind of hidden ample parking. We thought it was just a regular whole in the wall place which is awesome because most places like that have amazing food. Let just say that was totally the case. The staff was super friendly and very polite. Very clean restaurant, very clean restrooms. The food took a while, which was a bummer because we didn’t order any appetizers. Even though the food took a long while, it was so delicious. Home style cooking, kind of like if my mother in law was in the kitchen making these meals! Super impressed, we were all stuffed, and we had plenty of food left over to bring home. Their Halo-Halo desert is amazing, and delicious, we had to ask for a bit more milk but this thing was massive. It fed all 3 of us and we left a bit un eaten too. If we come back to SAC, it’s a definite stop for us. Thanks for a wonderful cuisine experience!!

I’ve been to this place twice now and I absolutely love everything we’ve ordered! The Laing, Kare-Kare (whether oxtail or pork), Adobo Fried Rice, Palabok, and Sinigang are all must-tries. The service is fantastic, and there’s plenty of space for everyone, making it perfect for family-style dining. There aren’t many Filipino restaurants in Sacramento, so it’s great to find one that serves truly authentic Filipino cuisine.

Pretty good place. The food was presented well and had good flavor. The 2 dishes we tried were unique. The pialla was heavy in the rice, light in the meat department, it had a good taste but just needed more protein. The noodles were phenomenal, as was the garlic rice. All in all it was a good place for lunch. I would try again for sure..

Considering the area and the amount of Filipinos within the Sacramento area, I understand the reviews about this place but I have to say that for Filipino food, the price is rather on the high side and these prices are what you would pay in a elegant urban area like San Francisco. The restaurant itself does not exude Elegance but rather a wonderful sit-down place in the suburbs. Therefore, the price should actually be lower for the type of food that is served. The food itself is wonderful tasting. We had the palabok and the Halo halo. Both of which were we feel overpriced but very tasty nonetheless. I would return but on a special occasion only but please be prepared to pay a five-star price at a three-star experience. Don’t get me wrong, the food is great for what we had but the price does not match the ambiance. As a small business owner, I understand operating costs but you would get more customers in if the prices were about 25-35% lower.

This place was recommended by 2 of my co-workers who live in Rancho. I was told that the food is authentic and tastes good.

I ordered these to go on a Tuesday afternoon:
* Crispy Pata $25 – very tasty with perfectly crunchy skin and well cooked meat inside
* Pancit Bijon $17 – Hubby thought it’s a little bit salty, but I liked it
* Aligue Rice $14 – This is a big serving, good for at least 6. It’s sooo good especially if it is paired with the crispy pork binagoongan
* Pinakbet $16 – not a fan. I had better
* Paella Espanol, Medium $25 – not salty, ample meat (chicken, chorizo de bilbao, shrimp & mussels). The taste is just so-so for me.
* Crispy Pork Binagoongan – Crispy pork with shrimp paste on a bed of eggplant, topped with tomatoes & mangoes. This is a very good concept! The taste of bagoong, with a very crispy pork meat, goes very, very well with the eggplant and tomatoes/mangoes topping. It’s the best Binagoongan pork I’ve ever had. It’s such an elevated dish.

The whole order took at least 30mins. As what I was told, the chef cook the food fresh as it is ordered, so I didn’t mind.

Parking – a lot of spaces available
Price – a little bit on the pricey side, but when it comes to food, I don’t skimp. So for me, it’s totally worth it.

I want to go back to this place and try other dishes. So far, I love most of the dishes that I ordered.

Presentation was nice but service and flavor did not meet expectation; paella was mush, crispy pata was gamy, kare-kare tasted like powder with the meat texture like rehydrated jerky. Service was horrible. No water for the first 20 minutes of our meal and had to ask politely several times to get some. No one was clearing plates as they piled up. Our sinigang went cold after being served with no individual bowls for serving.

Very nice staff. The serving for palabok was pretty big but was lacking authentic Filipino taste, it could use some chicharon or tinapa flakes on top and more meat on the sauce. I like the turon minus the caramelized sugar coating. The lumpiang shanghai was good. We ordered pork sisig but they ran out so we ordered lechon kawali instead but the staff forgot to add it so we didn’t get to try. The buko pandan drink was ok. This is a pretty busy place but staff Joel was very accommodating. We’ll probably return to try other dishes.

Latest visit:
My wife and I have eaten here a few times since our initial visit and review. The second to last time they some how mixed up the sauce on our kare-kare. It tasted like palabok sauce.

Some time has passed since and I wanted to forgive them and give them my business again. Sorry to say that the vegetable lumpia was still cold in the middle and greasy. A sign that they didn’t heat up the oil enough. The rice was a little cold and soggy. I couldn’t order a beer because they didn’t renew their license.

We came in too early for the live music. My wife and I think they might be better off lowering prices and focusing on a select few menu items that they master consistently. Make things more lively with karaoke or live music, a bar (with alcohol), and maybe a small dance floor if it fits in the back area somewhere.

On a good tip, the pinakbet and lechon kawali are still on point.

Old review:
Excellent food and service. We came here on NYE after church. We ordered a lot (pork sisig, bangus sisig, pinakbet, pancit palabok, lechon kawali, white rice, and halo-halo). The pork sisig with egg was excellent! The pinakbet was the best! The palabok had lots of delicious garlic! Everything cooked was on point, and the halo-halo had extra yummy ingredients like lots of flan, buko pandan, and ice cream. The only issue we had was the pitcher for the water looked kinda dirty and so we had it removed from our table completely and ordered soft drinks.
