The loaded fries were good and flavorful! The sauce was nice. There wasn’t much breaded parts to the peach cobbler just sauce and fruit …peach soup

As a chef, I’m very strict about restaurants and meals when I eat out because many are lackluster. Creole Soul Restaurant is anything but! The food was absolutely phenomenal; most importantly, it was seasoned to perfection. The gumbo and shrimp po’ boy: 10/10 will try again. Blessings!

From entering the restaurant to leaving; the service was impeccable. Our waitress Q’s service was tops tier. She was very knowledgeable about the menu, and knew what to recommend. I had the bayou wings, with sweet potato soufflé, collard greens and Mac ‘n cheese. Everything was seasoned to perfection. After enjoying the delicious meal that I had; I’m positively sure that everything else on the menu is just as tasty. I didn’t even want to come out to eat, but so glad I did. The atmosphere, service and the food were ALL exceptional! I will definitely be coming back, and I suggest that whoever reads this, go and enjoy this diamond in the cut!!!

Today was my first visit. I was greeted immediately, and a nice young lady took my order. My Mac & Lobster was not hot, though I had just received it. My Lobster and Mac also did not taste freshly made. My two pieces of Catfish & Fries came in a white box wherein my ketchup packets were put under the paper that lined the bottom of the box, and the fries covered the two small pieces of Catfish for which I paid $18. Who wants to dig through their food to see it and find the condiments? I didn’t see any desserts either, nor was I asked if I wanted to order something to drink. R.house has plenty of seating and a vibrant atmosphere, so they are definitely in a good spot. Everyone was also friendly. Finally, I was told that my only options for Catfish was with french fries for $18 or grits for $20. I could not just order Catfish. My Catfish was ok, but I have tasted better seasoning. My fries were nice and hot. I just feel like I paid too much for so little food. I paid $26 for the Lobster & Mac.

The worst meal I’ve had for a long time and incredibly expensive. Overcooked fried shrimp ($20!!) and chicken and waffles (two overcooked chicken wings) for $24. And on top of it, it took for ever to serve. Spare yourselves disappointment and a loss of money.

This was my first time eating food from Creole Soul Restaurant located in the R. House Food Hall located in Baltimore, MD.
I have been on a DMV food hall tour and R.
House has been on my list of food halls to try. After doing a lap around R. House to see what stood out, Creole Soul caught my eye. It’s Mardi Gras time, so having a Creole dish made sense. Took a minute to decide on what to order. There were a few items that I wanted to try. I opted for a fried catfish with shrimp & creamy grits & thought that it tasted DELICIOUS! Almost tasted like it wasn’t straight from New Orleans.
I would’ve liked to try their beignets, but next time, which there will definitely be because I enjoyed the food and would like to go back again the next time I’m in that part of Baltimore.

We went there early Saturday 12:15ish and was literally first in line. They made our dishes fresh, as we ordered almost 1 of everything just to taste it all. 1 hour later we were in a food coma.
The service was quick, owner engaged in conversation, and atmosphere was nice (better early than later) as we were able to get a table.
The only thing was that we’re out of red velvet and we tried waiting, but slipped into that food coma. Next time.
I thought it was reasonably priced compared to the NYC prices we pay. That $75 meal in NYCwould cost much more.
Hurry up and open up that new location.
Update July 2023 – When pass through on 95, I try to stop off. This recent visit wasn’t any different. Stopped off and got my shrimp and grits with cornbread and red velvet bread. The ride home was peaceful and fulfilling

I’m so glad I decided to dine at Creole Soul during my first visit to Baltimore. The food was amazing. Chef “Que” was on deck serving Flavor and Soul in every dish. We devoured the shrimp & grits, lobster mac & Cheese, and the red velvet cornbread then made room for the chocolate beignets. I can honestly say this was the Best lobster mac & Cheese I have ever eaten. My husband and I are planning to return before our trip ends just to have another slice of the red velvet cornbread. If you are looking for real Soul food with a Creole twist you have to dine at Creole Soul. You will not be disappointed!

Tried this place twice and unfortunately I got terrible food poisoning the second time. I was starving so I decided to stop in for the lemon pepper wings and the “red beans” and rice. I put the red beans in quotes because I expected actual red beans, I received white beans and rice. The wings had several feathers I had to remove and or eat around. That was a clear sign the meat hadn’t been cleaned enough but I was so hungry I couldn’t wait to eat. I learned my lesson and spent the next 48 hours throwing up.
I told a friend what happened and she said she had the same experience some months back.

The food was really good — I had the shrimp, catfish, and grits, and everything was flavorful and well-cooked. The only downside was the service. The guy working never greeted us, and several people walked away because he was the only one there and didn’t acknowledge anyone as they came up. He looked irritated the entire time, which definitely killed the vibe for me. The food is worth DoorDashing, though — I’d just skip the in-person experience until the service improves.
