Update 6/20/25: YAY you have Kegan now! He’s a great bartender! Got the pizza again, so good. The fries are so different and really GOOD! Never change them. Loved the cocktails. Have Kegan take over the cocktails, he comes up with some really good ones! Will be back!

Old Review: Very nice place, super friendly service. I loved the all meats Detroit style pizza, so doughy and yummy.
The pot stickers were yummy with the red sauce, forgot the name but it was perfect. Drinks were good, except they had this fish bowl drink but no fish to make it. I was kinda bummed, seemed really cool. But that’s ok, seems people mostly want beer when they come here. SO no biggie.
I want to come back and get a different pizza.

Stopped by the Chicago Street Pour House after a singalong Messiah event at Second Baptist Church. It was close, and looked decently good from the menu. I was prepared for a 3-star experience but was pleasantly surprised. 5 stars all the way! Great food, great beer selection, great service, great atmosphere! Not too loud but not dead. Just right for a late-evening meal.

2 *’s… 1 for decent fries and another for having a cool atmosphere.
Here’s the story…
While the atmosphere might be cool that is about all this place has to offer. Our lunch started out fine but then it all went downhill. First I ordered a certain type of beer (which was on the menu) the bartender/waitress brought out the wrong kind. When I questioned it she said that they may not have the one I ordered and after fumbling around she said they didn’t have it because of some distribution issue. She stated the one she brought me was “similar” to the one I ordered though. I didn’t think it was and I didn’t care for it. Anyway, not a huge deal. It seemed like she was the only one working and I understand she’s trying to run the place. Moving on, we ordered our food which was put in wrong and we had to wait for them to bring the correct sandwich out. The food was horrendous. We had the “prime rib” sandwich and Nashville hot chicken sandwich. The prime rib didn’t even look like prime rib and it was so thin and dry I could barely eat it. Not to mention, it only had 3 small slices on it with a garlic butter spread that was basically a thin mound of smashed looking white stuff (see pictures). Not worth $15.89 at all! The fries were decent, I’ll give them that. The ranch dressing and the horseradish was quite watery but edible.
Now for the Nashville hot chicken… First of all, it looked NOTHING like the picture on the internet. Which was disappointing because it looked great and that was actually why we chose to eat here. There were two large pieces of chicken but it had this sauce poured all over it (not tossed like the picture would lead one to believe) that tasted like… a marinara sauce mixed with some kind of hot sauce. Disgusting… I’ve been to Nashville and have had their hot chicken… this was not even close! Other than it being chicken, a sandwich and spicy, it was nothing like a Nashville hot chicken.
It’s safe to say we will not be back. If you want an alright Nashville hot chicken sandwich, go to Rookies a little down the road and if you want a good steak sandwich, go to River Street Tavern Bar and Grill in Dundee.

So glad I found this spot, all the entrees were sooooo good. Prime rib sandwhich was amazing, the place is an easy 5/5!!! I tried the original twisted tea and I definitely recommend it. Scoop fries are yummy as well. Nice spot for game night or just a quick bite.

I had the privilege of dining at the Pour House yesterday. It seemed to be a GREAT bar/restaurant to grab a bite, get together with friends, or even celebrate occasions. The place was clean, wonderful atmosphere, and had televisions everywhere. The food was AMAZING. I ordered the Chicken Club Sandwich with fries and everything was perfect. I had a small issue with my food, but Matthew the manager on duty, immediately rectified it without hesitation. The customer service he provided was above and beyond. I encourage EVERYONE to try the Chicago Street Pour House. Honestly, we are lucky this place exists in Elgin and should show our support towards home town establishments.

I was visiting a car dealership in the area and drove by this establishment. We figured we would give it a try and we are glad we did. The place is very clean, all staff was friendly and the food was really good. We tried the mozz sticks, prime rib sandwich and the Caesar salad. We are looking forward to our next visit.

I diamond in a place you would least expect.

I can not rave about this place enough. The service was extremely attentive and friendly. Our server made sure we were taken care of the entire time. We decided to do a sunday brunch here because of the bottomless mimosas for a great deal. The food did not disappoint. Every skillet and sandwich was amazing. Not to mention everything was reasonably priced and high quality. If you are an Elgin local or just visiting, give this place a shot. We will be back soon!

Came in on Labor Day and to our surprise it was half price pizza Monday. If you like Detroit style pizza you gotta try this one, it’s super tasty and the sauce has a nice zip to it. Scoop fries are nice and crispy and very well seasoned. Bartender was super friendly and conversational. They have really good daily specials so be sure to check that out! This was our first time but it most certainly won’t be our last!

Went to Chicago Street Pour House and wow… pot stickers were legit, cooked just right and full of flavor. The Detroit-style pizza stole the show though—crispy edges, tons of cheese, and just flat out good. Definitely gonna be back for that combo again.
