Ordered viet salad with spring rolls.
Noddles not made fresh but dry and sticky and overwhelm the bowl. Salad barely existed and to top it all off sauce was sweet chilli from the bottle not nouc cham. Yuck.

Unfortunately, this place was extremely disappointing. First, service was non-existent. Our table was covered with dirty dishes and spillage from the previous customer. The staff member brought our order and then just walked away. We had to call them back to ask them to remove the dirty dishes and wipe the table … and then they never returned to wipe the table, so we had to do it ourselves with serviettes.

Second, the food was a pale imitation of Vietnamese food and showed a distinct lack of care. We had a bun thit nuong which was totally lacking in flavour: no herbs (which are an essential part of the dish), an inadequate amount of an overly diluted sauce, and pork that was not so much grilled as incinerated.

I assume this restaurant does all right due to the Salamanca foot traffic, and maybe the fact that local customers don’t know any better (there are only two or three other Vietnamese places in Hobart). It doesn’t deserve to. Are the owners proud of this as a representation of Vietnamese cuisine? They should be embarrassed.

Just tried the special beef pho here and it’s so good! The broth was rich and the beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender.
Also, the service was super friendly and quick, and the price felt totally fair for the huge, satisfying bowl I got. This shop is very popular in Salamanca and is always full house at lunch time.
I’ll definitely be back soon!

Seems like a good place, it’s got potential but that bahn mi was so boring. Barely any filling at all, like 2 tiny coriander leaves, didn’t look like any pate at all, the meat tasted good but barely any of it. A bahn mi should be exploding with fillings. This had no visible fillings until you opened it up to be met with disappointment. It’s got potential to be fixed but that was below average.

I really recommend fried noodle and rice, their prawn was big and nice. And i asked them extra spicy for fried noodle, it was so yummy. very reasonable price for food in Salamanca, and the portion was pretty big enough.

This Vietnamese restaurant seems to know how to make good Soup for Pho.

Broth was very meaty-tasty, well balanced quality, hot enough to mix some vegetables provided with together. Most importantly food were worth of paying for!!

Hot soup saved me from chilly weather and binge Pub drinking in this happy & blessed Island, Tasmania

Sliced raw beef briskets on top of Pho should be slow cooked after mixing then with noodle in hot enough soup, this is one of typical styles how to make Vietnamese Pho soup taste better, but which may take a couple of mins and it may turn clear soup into dark and meaty flavor.

Try to ask staffs to cook meat in advance if having clear soup is preferred.

By the way, meat in Pho and Stir-fried dish was a bit chewy, but it was happy to enjoy as this restaurant does not use a meat tenderizer which is one of reasons why giving them good review. Hope to come back soon and taste dishes gain

Recommended.

It’s my second time to come to this Vietnamese restaurant, and I asked to add extra noodles and soup cuz the soup is so delicious. My friend and I ordered special noodle soup, Tofu laksa and Singapore noodle, all taste so good. We will definitely come again!

I recently tried the spicy beef noodle at Vietnamese Pho, and unfortunately, it was a disaster. The dish was nothing like a standard spicy noodle, and the beef was completely tasteless. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking good Vietnamese food.

Looking forward to a delicious bowl of Pho, I ventured to this place with its promising 4-star rating. However, upon arrival, I noticed that the staff mainly conversed in Mandarin, despite it being a Vietnamese restaurant. Raised an eyebrow, but I tried not to let it affect my judgment. Opting for the beef ball pho noodle soup, I hoped for an authentic taste of Vietnam here in Hobart.

The presentation was decent enough, but the first sip… Oh, dear. It was like a cricket ball thrown by the great Shane Warne himself, completely unexpected with a wrongum. Regrettably, the soup turned out to be the worst Pho I’ve ever tasted. Just salty broth with a faint hint of beef ball flavor.

Disheartened, I scrolled through the Google Reviews afterwards. Interestingly, many of the 5-star ratings came from users with very few reviews to their name.

1 star is for the Pho noodle soup. Perhaps other dishes on the menu might fare better.

Ordered the Laksa and spring rolls.
Spring rolls were delicious.
Laksa was not my favourite and was laking some flavour.
