The most watery Bingsu we’ve EVER had. The first time we tried the Bingsu here was at the old location and it was halfway melted which was tolerable. This time however it was like soup!! We had to drink it with a boba straw .
And the high bar standing area with no stools for anyone to sit is not very family friendly. Lastly, the unwelcoming employees vibes is so bad. All the areas of the business was empty. The Claw machine employee looked like she was doing probation time there. Our daughter played the Claw machines (2 coins/$2 each play) and was only able to win one toy.

I feel sad giving this review cuz honestly sweetsociety was my husband and I favorite spot to get a sweet treat, we would look forward to go, but since they moved the quality has moved too, they have a beautiful decor but that’s it. The last time we went we took a few of our friends to try their delicious ice-cream, only to find out that they only had one flavor available, and when we asked for the new claw, that they advertised on Instagram and we been really wanting to try in consolation to our beloved taiyaki, it turns out that they were out of those as well, we were so disappointed.. that only one person in our little group of 6 got and ice cream, after that we decided to probably never go back again, so sad to see such a nice date spot to loose what made it so special.
Edit: February 2026 yayyy the taiyaki and soft serve are back, and so am I !!!

We came here for dessert and was greeted by the cashier with a face of disgust when we asked for a sample. After we ordered our ube+milk and taiyaki we had to wait for 20 minutes, and only upon asking for the status of our order were we given our order. When the taiyaki came out, it was burned, and the ice cream tasted like it had granules of ice and powder. Unfortunately, we were very dissatisfied with our experience, and we don’t plan on returning.

Not thrilled about my most recent experience here. Took a friend, who has never been, and we ordered 2 red bean taiyaki which, after having bitten into them, appeared to be made with sweetened black beans instead of actual red bean curd. The filling was watery and chunky and the pastry itself was partially undercooked. Truthfully though, im most upset about the bean paste. I didnt order black beans, I didnt want black beans. I wanted red bean paste. And as the product is advertised as red bean I feel very jipped. I would rather be told that the product I want is unavailable over getting something I wasn’t planning on.
I miss their old location. At least there there was a consistent quality and you got what you ordered.

Ever since they moved to this new location, the quality has been inconsistent. I absolutely adore their strawberry bingsu. So happy to have this in the BR.
However, when I placed my order. There is a pick up window to the left of the counter. It took awhile for them to call my order and when they did, it was all melted. It look like they forgot my order after it was made.
They also offer a claw machine experience. I paid $20 for 25 tokens and didn’t win a single prize. Each machine took 2 tokens. They will fix the position of the plushies for you if requested but still. It was also really warm in there.
They also only having standing room with tables. No chairs. Parking can be pretty tight on busier days and it’s right off of Essen so prepare for the traffic.

One of the best ice cream experiences in Baton Rouge area. The freshly made waffle pockets add a whole new dimension to the ice cream cups. The place is nicely decorated and and the staff is very friendly. You can try from various flavors they offer.

Best experience in Baton Rouge for Japanese ice cream. They are always adding seasonal items along with new flavors. The ube is amazing, and we always have to get an order of taiyaki pockets with cheese to bring home….best grilled cheese sandwich.
Lately, they have been offering various Dole flavors such as mango and lime……so good mixed together with the custard taiyaki.
The drinks are very good as well.
Do not miss out on this amazing ice cream experience. It is worth the drive.

Bing su? More like Bing soup.
How can it take nearly 10 minutes to make an order of Bing su, and it comes out all melted. No customers ahead of us. And its not hot. So why is it melted? Order two, both watery like a boba tea. Sad.

Delicious and fun dessert items featuring “exotic soft serve” ice cream, sorbets, and delicious fish-shaped objects stuffed with your choice of tasty additions then cooked to order.
They also have an array of Asian bagged sweets and treats for sale, some of which were familiar and some I had never seen before.
They are conveniently located around the corner from City Roots coffee shop if you like coffee with your frozen treats.
The shop faces a public area within the Electric Depot footprint providing nice outside seating.
Well worth the trip!
