Little Barcelona is a unique and charming restaurant in Prescott, Ontario, offering dishes you don’t often find elsewhere, making it well worth a visit. I had the opportunity to sample several plates, which showcased both creativity and quality.

The eggplant fries with honey and salt were an excellent starter—light, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The bikini grilled cheese with Spanish ham stood out for the quality of its ingredients; the cheese was rich and satisfying, and the ham was so delicious I had to try it on its own, though a slightly more generous portion of ham would have elevated the dish further.

The house salad was simple but well executed, with a good dressing that complemented the fresh ingredients. We also tried a tuna and red pepper dish to experience something truly different. The combination was enjoyable, with soft, flavorful tuna and sweet red pepper, though lightly toasted bread would have added a welcome textural contrast.

Overall, Little Barcelona delivers a distinctive dining experience with thoughtfully prepared dishes and flavors that set it apart from more conventional options in the area.

What a gem! The chef, from Barcelona, brought the best ingredients from his hometown to make authentic tapas and pinchos. It brought us back to our recent trip to San Sebastian. The service was warm and attentive. Accommodating for gluten free folks. We purchased some treats from their store, too. We will definitely be back.

Shown in pics: octopus with potato confit, oyster mushroom in garlic oil, tortilla patates, aged tuna, ilberrico ham.

Enjoyed a dinner date for my wedding anniversary. Service was a little clunky but the server was friendly and the food was great. The atmosphere was delightful on the patio with what I believe was Spanish guitar music playing and an outdoor cooking area. A few cobwebs could have been taken care of but that’s maybe a bit nit picky. 🙂 The food was delicious! Ordered tomato on sourdough, and eggplant “fries” which were lightly seasoned and so tender. The vegetable paella was also very good. Pricey for the quantity but most of their ingredients are imported from Spain (and they export to 3-Michelin star restaurants in Ontario and Montreal) so I think it was worth it for a special occasion. I even loved the sparkling water. I don’t know what made it special but it was really good. 🙂

We’d heard good things and read the positive reviews but were quite disappointed.

Only five tables being served but the lady in the front seemed flustered.

We ordered three tapas to start and the chicken orange salad and seafood paella for main courses.

The croquetas weren’t bad but nothing special. The patatas were just plain roast potatoes, nothing more. The mushrooms were luke warm, and just plain mushrooms in garlic and olive oil.

Unfortunately, they brought out the mains half way through the tapas even though we’d asked for a delay between them. It appears that they just put the paella aside until we were ready. It came out barely warm and no longer moist. Besides that, it simply wasn’t good – monotone and for $36 had minimal seafood ie 4 little mussels and shrimp and you had to hunt for the octopus.

The orange salad with chicken didn’t taste of orange and was mostly just lettuce and unseasoned chicken with a few dried cranberries, a little bit of orange and apple and some almond bits. Bland.

After eating on the patio of this delightful little restaurant, a wonderful find, I should emphasize that Little Barcelona in Prescott ON (off the 416 and 401) should be a destination and not an after-thought or an en route stop for a meal.
We selected the assortment of croquetas, the pan con tomate, the charcuterie board and the seafood paella. The ingredients were high quality, several imported from Spain.
Pan con tomate (tomato bread) was simple and tasty, and is made by rubbing fresh garlic and ripe tomatoes directly over warmed rustic bread. A little more of the grated tomato mixture would have improved the resulting flavor, in my view.
The charcuterie board offered exceptional quality meats and cheeses from Spain, paired with excellent service
Fortunately items on the dinner menu were served for lunch too, notably the paella, which was the pièce de résistance. After all, locals in Barcelona rarely have paella at night. If you don’t like seafood don’t worry, they have options here. Also with a good paella the toppings are a bonus, not the main show, so don’t expect the mussels, shrimp, octopus or other ingredients depending on your choice to cover the paella. The secret is in the broth and the quality of the rice. This was cooked outside right next to us and was a full-on statement of gastronomic intent.

Hidden gem in an industrial area that’s worth visiting.

Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.

The appetizer was ok. The ham sandwich was tasty, and the dessert was excellent.

Had the following lunch items:

Trio de Pinchos {$18}
– 3 slices of baguette with different toppings
– Edulis Mushroom (not much flavour)
– cheese (not much flavour)
– white anchovies (delicious)

Joselito Jamon Sandwich {$25}
– ham is phenomenal
– bread is made in house
– I feel like you need a drink with it otherwise your jaw gets tired from chewing the bread because there’s only that delicious ham inside the sandwich

Mousse de Turton de Jijona {$12}
– almond and honey mousse
– AMAZING…this is a MUST!

Honestly the dessert will get me to go back. I would like to try the croquet and paella next time.

Prices are a bit expensive, but that’s because everything is either imported from Spain or made in house.

Drop by and try them out, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

Absolutely blown away by this gem of a Spanish restaurant. Every single dish was a hit, but two things stole the show: the Joselito Gran Reserva ham—rich, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth perfect—and the cheesecake, which I’m not exaggerating when I say was the best I’ve ever had. Creamy, balanced, and paired with just the right touch of fruit.

The paella was flavorful and perfectly cooked, the gambas al ajillo (garlic shrimp) came with sauce worth mopping up with every piece of bread, and the Patatas Bravas were crispy with a rich aioli and brava sauce. Even the sparkling water—Vichy from Barcelona—fit the vibe beautifully.

Gorgeous presentation, amazing hospitality, and patio vibes that made it all feel like a mini escape to Spain. 11/10, would go back in a heartbeat.

We’ve been here 3-4 times and love the food. The service is also excellent. The Iberico ham is amazing (Joselito). And we always find delicious food and great Spanish wine to buy in their shop. It’s a rare gem in this part of Ontario.

Honestly there’s no reason not to give this place a 5 star review. It’s not their fault they’re in an industrial area. You can tell they use very good ingredients. The staff are very welcoming. The bathroom is clean. The decor is just right.

Excellent little restaurant. Owner and staff were warm and welcoming. Food was great and good value. Our group’s dietary restrictions were accommodated (I’m lactose intolerant and we had two pescatarians in our group), and they did a fantastic job making dishes everyone could enjoy. We will definitely go back.
