The cheesesteak at Capriotti’s in Smyrna, DE, is a standout! I had the classic cheesesteak with grilled steak, onions, and sweet peppers, and provolone cheese, and it was a fantastic choice. The steak was grilled to perfection, and the melted provolone cheese created a delicious, gooey texture that coated the meat, onions, and peppers. I was really impressed with how all the flavors came together.
Online reviews confirm that the cheesesteak is a favorite, with many people noting that Capriotti’s recently increased the meat portion by 25% on their cheesesteaks, which makes it even more satisfying. As one reviewer mentioned, “This beauty has grilled choice steak, mushrooms, onions, white American cheese, and optional hot or sweet peppers on an Italian roll. Wow, we were not expecting that. Now, this is a phenomenal cheesesteak from a national chain.” While they used white American cheese, the praise for the grilled steak, onions, and peppers applies perfectly to my experience with the provolone.
The only downside to some might be the price, but as another reviewer said, “you’re not going to be disappointed” if you enjoy a quality cheesesteak. The flavor and portion size make it worth it.
Overall, if you’re looking for a top-tier cheesesteak, I highly recommend visiting Capriotti’s in Smyrna.

In an age so often marked by haste and the careless assembly of things, it is a small but genuine delight to encounter a place where craft still matters. This Capriotti’s location offers such an encounter. I recently had a cheesesteak, and found it to be not merely satisfactory, but precisely what one hopes such a sandwich might be: warm, balanced, and thoughtfully composed.
There is, to my mind, a quiet dignity in doing a simple thing well. If they continue in this spirit (steady, consistent, unpretentious) they will have achieved something more commendable than they may realize.
Keep on, then. Persist in this good work. It is greatly appreciated.

They have some of the best subs around. You can’t beat the taste of the bobby. It’s by far my favorite cold sub and it’s even better if you take it home and throw it in the toaster oven for a few minutes. Whoever thought of Thanksgiving on a sub roll deserves one heck of a raise! Staff was friendly, the store was clean, and the food was tasty!

Capriotis used to have good subs and they were worth the money. Now they are way overpriced for the amount of meat they use on their sandwiches. $17 for a sub that’s essentially just a roll and cheese no meat. I will not ever order from them again. It’s a ripoff. I recommend you order from pretty much anywhere else!

Capriottis Sandwich shop has the best turkey subs in Delaware! The store is clean, everything is fresh, the service is great. They offer vegetarian options. There is plenty of free parking. They have been a part of our family for over 20 years.

Decent sandwiches. I am updating this review because I went here recently and I wanted to add that my son found a hair in his hero when we got home. Just a word to this location…when you are preparing the customers food try not to leave uncoverd sandwiches out as you are waiting and talking over them. The saliva and possible hairs can fall in people’s food. I feel some of the staff should have on hairnets. Build the sandwich immediately and get it to the customer or cover it until its done. Having a conversation over exposed food is unsanitary. Also, the store is a bit dated and needs a little upkeep.

Wish there was a way to leave no stars. I have eaten at multiple locations and never really had much of an issue. However I will never eat at the Smyrna location again and would strongly advise even trying. Got a Large steak sandwich and it had hardly any meat for 17.49 I expect a little more of a sandwich. Supervisor told me it’s because “I didn’t get cheese”, $17.49 anywhere else gets you a full course meal.

The Bobby is literally and utterly in fact undisputedly the best cold sub sandwich in the world !
Every time I go to this place, or for that matter any Capriotti’s anywhere, I have to battle with myself to try something other than the Bobby. A battle that I loose every time, because how can you ever say no to thanksgiving on a roll. Seriously the perfect combination of stuffing, cranberry sauce, turkey, mayo, and if you so venture add hers chips. Ohhh sooo good.
Do yourself a favor, and get addicted to the Bobby. I guarantee your gonna like it.

Been there many times, and this was the first time everything was done the way I asked. I was a walk in and they were hustling at peak lunch time and I only had to wait 10 minutes. Great crew.
