This was our first time at Zippy‘s. We didn’t go when we were in Hawaii so we tried it here. Lots of menu options to choose from and great service. I loved my crispy Korean Fried Chicken Breakfast. It was very tasty with a generous portion. My wife enjoyed the Spaghetti with Garlic Bread. I tried it too, good flavor. We were so full that we passed on dessert but will go back. The Lilikoi drink was ok but probably will just order water next time. Worth a try!

On our recent visit to Las Vegas we went to Zippy’s in Summerlin to get our Hawaiian style drive in food. We ate on the restaurant side and tried some of the classic options. We stared with a Portuguese bean soup and a corn chowder, they were both good and just like back home on the islands. For entrees we shared a chili and rice and a chicken Katsu, my son had the chili and I told him that it’s one of the dishes Zippy’s specializes in. Both were tasty and satisfying, the portions were just right. Our server was nice and friendly but our service was a little slow. The restaurant looks like any other Zippy’s in Hawaii and with a lot of Hawaiian locals in LV it brings home to the 9th island. If you want to try Hawaiian style comfort food or get a taste of home we definitely recommend it.

They have too few employees for a place this large, which makes their service quite slow when they bring out the food. The restaurant is quite large, so it can accommodate a great number of customers. The employees are very pleasant and helpful, though they really need to move a bit faster.

This spot serves Hawaiian fast food. The quality is average, but you might enjoy it.

If you order the chocolate brownie with ice cream, make sure to ask them to warm it up. Otherwise, you’ll get a block of cement that you can barely cut with a spoon. The dream cake is decent.

This is a new location in Summerlin. Parking is free with handicap access. We arrived at 11:30 for lunch. The interior is the same setup as the Durango location. There was minimal wait to be seated. Our server was Trish. She was the best, very friendly and cheerful. She stopped by several times to check if we needed anything. My hubby’s favorite is the Korean bbq chicken plate. It was yummy. I had the won tun min. It was delicious comfort food. The wait to be served was somewhat long for a few diners at that time. They are on Hawaiian time. No problem for delicious island food. They have a bakery section with yummy selections. The order and take out counter is next to the bakery. The call in orders lockers are located in the same section.

The Korean Fried Chicken was excellent! The chili, macaroni salad and rice on that plate was also good. I suggest getting the chili with their cheese and onion option. The Zip Pac, however, had some flaws. Although the fish, Spam and beef were good, the bone-in chicken was tepid, dry and not good. The rice was also dry. Nice interior. This is a full blown sit down restaurant with a large dining room and good lighting, definitely not fast food. A fresh bakery is in the same building. Great friendly service, refilling our drinks several times. Simple interior with almost no decorations. While We were leaving, an employee was cleaning up our table and asked if everything was okay. I mentioned the chicken on my plate, and she offered to bring me another piece to go, which she did. Unfortunately, it was pretty much the same chicken that was on my plate.

UPDATE: My family and I visited again on 25 July 2025 and had the same outstanding service by this restaurant. The only difference is that we got to experience phenomenal service from Julius this time. I attached new photos from this visit to this review. Mahalo Nui Loa!

When I first heard of Zippy’s opening a second location in Las Vegas, I was astonished because I didn’t expect them to go that route so soon. I figured us locals would be stuck with only having just one Zippy’s location for the unforeseeable future. However, after hearing where the second location was going to be, I was a little confused as to why they decided to build so close to the first location (Badura Ave). I just assumed there were more “island locals” on that part of the city so it was a strategic decision on their part? Regardless, I’m just annoyed because I wish they would’ve built one in the far Northwest part of the valley so I have one closer to my house. Also, since they’re planning a third location in Henderson, it would make sense to cover three major points of the surrounding areas. But, I digress.

My wife and I ate here on 21 Jun 2025 after I’ve been having that itch to eat a Zip Pac and Saimin. When we walked in, the restaurant wasn’t busy at all which is always appreciated when I’m starving. The décor was nice…pretty similar to the first location, but I noticed that this building is much smaller. The facility itself and especially the dining area was clean, as it always should be. The service that evening was great, mainly from the hostess (Dallas), and our main server, Jorddan (yes, with two D’s). Jorddan was very attentive and friendly which made the entire experience much more pleasurable to dine here. Since there weren’t as many customers dining at the time of our visit, I was happy that I could actually hear the music playing in the restaurant. I couldn’t hear the music at the first location because with all the customers there, along with the music level being low…and honestly, I didn’t even know music was playing while I dined at that location.

We ordered the Zip Pac Deluxe (of course), Saimin, Korean Fried Chicken and Chili, and Apple Napple. Everything tasted fresh and extremely satisfying – I have zero complaints about the food quality and quantity. I have tried most things on their menu in my lifetime (both in Hawaii and in Las Vegas), so there’s really nothing bad on their menu that I can recall. Heck, even their coffee and fruit punch were wonderful (yes, that was our drinks while we dined here).

Overall, I loved my experience here as depicted in my 5-star rating. The prices are adequate, though, I have noticed a price increase from the previous years I’ve eaten here…but that’s expected with everything increasing these days. And to be honest, if I can’t afford to pay for things at a restaurant, then why would I even bother eating outside of my house (just saying). Also, the portions are not the typical “island style” grub where your plate has enough food to feed three people…but it’s the right amount – and quite frankly, us Americans (and especially me) eat way too much anyways. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone – I/we will be back soon!

Food was decent but for what i paid for it wasn’t worth it.. I ordered the katzu salmon tested like like old oil covered in breading, salmon was dry. Wasn’t the best to me. Wish everyone the best..

We stopped by for the first time for some lunch. We were greeted right away and felt very welcomed. They sat us and tended to us right away. Our waitress, Trish, was super attentive and very friendly and helpful. We loved her cheerful attitude. We had the Korean fried chicken plate, the beef teriyaki plate, the fried noodles and a spam musabi. Everything came out hot and delicious! We were too full to try the desserts but they all looked super yummy. Maybe next time! Can’t wait to go back and try something new.

What a wonderful experience, my server Julius was incredibly welcoming and informative, with great tact at guiding me through the menu, specials, and desserts. I was craving the Zip Pac Deluxe with extra chicken and he delivered with speed, articulation to my customization, and with frequent visits to ensure everything was good.

The restaurant environment is warm, welcoming, and a great modern twist to diners, Hawaiian food, and a neighborhood restaurant for the family.

My favorite thing they have, hands down, is the Orange Bang drink, which tastes like a melted orange creamsicle. The flavors are nostalgic, the service is fantastic, and the time spent here is worth repeating!

How could I not enjoy the experience?! This was quite the treat and I look forward to returning soon!

I’ve always wanted to try Zippy’s, Hawaii’s famous diner, but unfortunately, my experience didn’t meet my expectations. The atmosphere was surprisingly quiet, with the dessert showcase nearly empty and somewhat unkempt. As for the food, it was disappointing and lacked the quality I’ve come to expect from similar eateries.

I ordered the Korean fried chicken, but it was nothing like what I’ve had at other places. It was overly salty and lacked flavor, which was quite underwhelming. Honestly, there are other Hawaiian restaurants that offer better value and more satisfying dishes for the same or lower prices.

The only bright spot during our visit was our server, Jordan. She provided excellent service and genuinely made an effort to make our experience better, which I appreciated given the overall lack of food quality and atmosphere.

I wouldn’t recommend Zippy’s if you’re looking for a memorable Hawaiian dining experience. There are better options out there that deliver on both flavor and ambiance.
