Building off the success of our critically acclaimed locations in the Seattle Metro, Jack’s BBQ brings the authentic taste and feel of Central Texas to the heart of downtown Bellingham. Fully equipped with two 18-foot outdoor BBQ pits, all of our meats are smoked on-site for up to 12 hours and sliced to order. We serve BBQ the best way we know how; with scratch-made sides, classic cocktails, and a love for the craft.

The brisket is killer! The seasonal green beans were deep friend, covered in garlic and spice. My friend got the ribs and she said that she would definitely get them again, next time!
We also got the “pickle jar” (friend pickles) for an appetizer, delish! And the chili was SO good! Loaded with brisket, but heads up, Very Spicy. The cornbread was not as warm as I would like.

It took literally 10min before a waiter came to see me. There was live country music, good songs, but there was no vibe. Received my plate, the brisket was dry, ribs had a good rub, but the meat wasn’t easy to grab from the bone. Coleslaw was good, but the mac n cheese wasn’t cheesy enough, in fact it wasn’t very good. Ratings were high, I was excited to try it, but what a bummer..

We were finally able to check out Jack’s BBQ for dinner. The space inside and out had the right vibe for a Texas inspired BBQ/Brisket spot.
Our wait at 7pm on a Friday, with no reservations was around 20 minutes. We had a table by the window off the bar, which was nice. They had some live music going on inside too.
The waiter we had was prompt and friendly.
He explained the options and the bbq process.
I ordered the brisket and my two sides were Cornbread and the baked Mac n cheese. Both delicious. The brisket was melting off the knife.
The table is stocked with two types of BBQ (Sweet and a spicy). My partner ordered the chicken salad, which was huge!
We had our eye on the Peach Cobbler, but were way too full at that point.

The ribs, pulled pork, collard greens, and cornbread were all fantastic! Came here with my partners family and we had a wonderful time. Cool rustic ambience, and authentic BBQ. Cant go wrong!

Ordered $90 of food from this place, getting a family picnic meal. The sides we got would feed 1-2 people at most, whereas the meat quantity was sufficient. They gave us a single slice of corn bread… We decided to try this new BBQ place, but clearly our regular choice of Burnt Ends is WAY better. They actually give you large portions of the sides and just as much meat. Embarrassingly stingy for the cheapest parts.
After eating the food, we had more complaints. The chili has no beans (sloppy joe status), the tiny corn bread was just alright, the collard greens were good but not AS good as Burnt Ends, the slaw was alright, and the meat was lacking flavor for BBQ (especially the abnormally smooth chicken). Burnt Ends has way more flavor in everything, and actually tastes smoked/BBQ’d.

The food is absolutely top notch. Pulled pork was delicious and didn’t need any of the various kinds of sauce they provide. Best cornbread of my life. Mac and cheese side delicious (with crumbled topping). All meals appear to come with a slice of white bread for no reason I can discern.
They also have a full bar. Ample spacing between tables for comfortable conversation. The host was very personable. Not an ideal place if you’re in a rush but it’s well worth the wait!
Will absolutely try again.

We heard from a friend that they had breakfast tacos so we stopped in on a Saturday morning. Didn’t even need a menu as our waiter listed the three options. We got one of each and an extra brisket taco. They were all great. At just under $5 a taco, it was the cheapest breakfast we had in Bellingham.

Open, airy barbeque place to find Texas style smoked meats and sides. Outdoor patio when weather is nice. Soft and tender meat, house-recipe sauce served on the side. Smoked mushrooms on the menu and “Texas caviar”, beans, Mac and cheese sides and also salad options for vegetarians. Generous portions on the plate options. Tasty sides. Full bar on site. Hankering for bbq goodness? Worth a visit. Family friendly. Bellingham is the newest addition to this Seattle based small chain. Ample space inside, high ceilings, some free parking in the adjacent parking lot or street parking all around.
Update- May 2023- they’re now serving fried chicken! It’s delicious! Stop in to try it, pull up a chair in the bar area where they have darts, shuffle board and tvs throughout, or head into the restaurant or outdoor patio. Either way, you’ll be glad u did!

Jacks BBQ spot is the real deal. The Texas BBQ brisket sandwich was delicious . It was flavorful and moist. The queso and chips was a perfect appetizer. If you love cheesy macaroni, the queso mac is the cheesiest and yummers! The ranch water hit all the spots. The hubs had a bruised cherry Manhattan and he raved about it all night. Our server, Rocket was the man! We will definitely go back again and again!
