Alright, Thang Long Signature Restaurant & Rooftop Bar. The name, frankly, is a red flag. “Signature” and “Rooftop Bar”—usually, that’s code for tourist prices and food built for Instagram, not for eating. But Vietnam, she always surprises you. This place is an exception.
You take the elevator up, and suddenly, the beautiful, relentless, chaotic roar of Hanoi is muted. The comfort here is the quiet. It’s the cool air and the view—a panoramic shot of the city lights coming on, making a neon river out of the street traffic below. It’s an elevated, beautiful oasis where you can finally hear yourself think.
The staff here move with a grace born of deep cultural hospitality and zero pretense. It’s all competence. I watched a young man navigate a spill—a full glass of wine detonated on the floor. He didn’t blink. He had it clean, the table reassured, and a replacement drink delivered before the shock fully registered. That’s pure professional choreography.
And the food that justifies the altitude: their Gỏi Cuốn (Fresh Spring Rolls). They take what is essentially a street food staple and treat it like a damn religious artifact. The rice paper is transparent, the herbs are fiercely fresh, and the shrimp are cooked perfectly. It’s the simple things done flawlessly. You dip it in the rich peanut sauce, look out over the ancient city, and you realize you’re not just eating dinner; you’re having a moment of perfectly balanced, quiet dignity. We went for dinner and cocktails. The cocktails were underwhelming and we couldn’t taste any alcohol. The salmon entree was wonderful!! Our mains were nice enough but nothing special. The staff in the foyer were happy, courteous and helpful, but the two male bar/wait staff on the rooftop lacked interest. The view is really lovely at night with all the lights around Hoan Kiem lake. Unfortunately there was a cigar smoker there when we were dining which impacted our enjoyment. I’d go back for the salmon entree, the beautiful view and maybe a coffee, but wouldn’t bother with a cocktail, they’re much better prepared and presented at the GM Premium Hotel where the bar staff are very attentive.

Amazing atmosphere, was sat next to the best view. Took heaps of photos here the food was all really good we got the five course Vietnamese meal and it was all delicious and presented well. Jack and Calvin were great company and brought really good energy

Great sky bar, the view and atmosphere are wonderful daytime or nighttime, Jack and Kevin took such great care of us, fabulous recommendations for drinks and food and brought us a surprise tasty roll. Definitely stop by here, you wont regret it.

You pay for the exclusivity. The view is great and also the staff is very kind. Only had one drink but it wasn’t very special, just very pricy (350k for one cocktail). You pay 15% extra on everything on the menu, kind of a shame for such a nice place.
