This is probably one of the worst Panera Bread’s I’ve ever been to, I’m serious. I’ve ordered here a couple of times through drive thru pick up and the service is great, employees are fast and kind. I got the pick two and I chose the avocado chipotle sandwich with the wild rice and cream soup. The first couple times I noticed the sandwich is a smaller portion than other Panera’s give but I thought it was just because it’s a different policy here at this location. Other than that the soup was the same as usual, creamy and thick consistency. Now, this is the fourth time I’ve gotten the food but it was just so disappointing. I got the pick two and chose avocado chipotle sandwich with the wild rice and cream soup. The sandwich was SO small, smaller than the portion they already give. The chicken inside was shredded and super chewy that I couldn’t even swallow it. The soup was literally like water consistency and if you know, this soup usually has a way thicker consistency. Terrible food, I’m definitely bummed out about this location, I had higher hopes.

High hopes & expectations for the new Panera when it opened. The staff are friendly and corrected any problems encountered in Panera.
The Highlights:
-Having new restaurant option nearby
-New seasonal food offered at Panera
-Staff was quick in resolving any problems encountered.
– Delicious macaroni & cheese entree.
– Healthy and low calorie entree and side options.
Problems:
Expensive prices for drinks & meals for two people. Over $40 for two meals with soft drinks. We ordered the value meal of Mac & cheese with a bowl of soup plus two apples and a large sandwich with chips.
Drink machine was unavailable. We ordered drinks that could be refilled. We were given bottles of Coke Zero instead of getting a cup to fill with Coke Zero.
They botched my order and gave me a cup instead of a bowl of soup- a larger serving . The soup I usually order tasted different from the same soup I have ordered in different Paneras. They resolved the problem and gave me a bowl of soup. The new Ciabatta cheese steak sandwich and Italian steak sandwich were good yet not as delicious as the Mac & Cheese. I was shocked that this Panera put Asiago cheese in my soup instead of the traditional Gruyère cheese they use in other Panera French Onion Soups. It changed the flavor dramatically. Croutons were stale. If you love French Onion Soup, don’t get it at this Panera.
Overall, my experience was so so. Some highs and lows – not so bad to be below satisfactory. I had wanted this Panera to be a place I would frequent. Yet, it fell below my expectations in the taste and quality of most of the food for the high prices we paid and the food delivery of what we ordered. I rather order Asian takeout food with higher quality & quantity of food with lower prices at the local places nearby instead of buying Panera’s food with lower quality& quantity – at higher prices.

Food here was meh. Soup came out cold and sandwich seemed smaller than what I’m used to at other Paneras. Sitting area is really small though. Can fill up quick during lunch. Overall it’s something different but not a must go to at lunch.

I frequently go to Panera and IMO this is the worst I’ve ever been. I can’t give less than 1 I guess. They don’t take care of the walk-ins because all their attention is on the only vehicle going to the drive-thru. The order kiosk needs to be improved enormously.

I’m not a regular so I’m unsure if this was just an off day for Panera but I ordered three different soups chili, cream of chicken and wild rice and homestyle chicken noodle soup. The chili tasted absolutely awful just so grainy and bad flavor. Chicken noodle soup was half spilled in the bag because of the lids were put on not secured and the flavor was not great. The wild rice edible. Avoid the mango smoothie it’s disgusting. Stick with the sandwiches and sourdough bread. Wasn’t a fan of the chocolate chip cookie either. Drive thru personnel was pleasant and I considered driving back and going inside but it was already very late at night.

This morning I ordered my breakfast through the app, but when I went to pick it up, it wasn’t ready because, for some reason, they couldn’t see the order on their computer. After showing them my order number and the payment charged to my bank account, the person in charge took my phone with her. I was in my car waiting for them to resolve the issue, and I was late for work. It took them 20 minutes. When they finally gave me my order, no one apologized; in fact, they seemed annoyed with me. The customer service is terrible!

I’ve visited this new Panera on post a few times now and have been quite impressed, despite some negative reviews I’ve seen. The staff is very courteous, and our food has consistently been excellent. Given that there are limited food options on Fort Belvoir, it’s understandable that this location can get busy during peak lunchtime hours, especially since it’s a new and popular spot. Order well in advance and utilize walk-in instead of the drive through if you suspect it will be busy. We also had our office lunch catered from here, and everything was prepared on time and to a high standard. Many thanks to the entire staff!

I placed a pretty large catering order, not only was my order ready in its entirety when I arrived, but the staff made a point to help me out to my vehicle.
The staff were very friendly and courteous. This is one of the best Panera’s that I have had the pleasure of doing business with, I will definitely be back!
