The woman who works here is very rude. She forgets Chinese restaurants are a dime a dozen. Her complaint was people order and don’t pickup because there are so many China Panda’s in Richmond and once they find out it’s her address they decide it’s too far. This is the source of her attitude while she shovels white rice into containers and ignores customers right in front of her—aka me and another person. Not sure why that was instantly my problem but I took my business and money elsewhere because while I can’t control her ignorance, I can control where I spend my coins. The restaurant could use a health inspection so take that into consideration when frequenting this place (flies, tomatoes and scallions sitting on counter near customers, newspapers littered everywhere, just a tornado of hot mess).

My wife and I got the vegetable lo mein and the mock orange chicken. Both were very tasty. The mock orange chicken was AMAZING. It was crispy, hot (temperature-wise), and sweet. It was actually so sweet that my we both commented that it tasted like a dessert. I definitely recommend eating it with the white rice that comes with it to balance out the syrupy sweetness. The broccoli tasted really fresh too. We’ll definitely be back to try more mock chicken dishes! Their vegetarian menu is huge!
There are some reviews mentioning bad service. I will say the woman who took my order on the phone and gave us our food at the restaurant was pretty short with me. I did kind of get the sense that we were annoying her by ordering at her restaurant. It didn’t bother me too much since we were getting takeout anyways, and honestly the food was good enough that I’d endure the poor service again.

Everything was so tough, even the tofu. How do you make tofu tough? The mock chicken pieces so chewy and tasteless. I suspect food was cooked previously then reheated in the fryer. As my husband said, “well, it’s food, that about the best I can say for it.”

Wow. The woman who runs this restaurant is aggressively rude. Like not even regular rude. lol But she’s mean.
I know I’m a stranger to anyone reading this but I swear I’m a nice person who doesn’t abuse ppl in the service industry. I don’t abuse anyone in any job or any capacity. But I used to be a server and bartender when I was younger so I’m extra compassionate to those in this industry. I eat out like twice a week. I always tip a lot.
I didn’t respond to her rudeness even. Like I didn’t match it. I just rolled with it but she wouldn’t stop no matter how passive I was.
I’ve never had an experience with anyone like this. It was so bad I couldn’t even finish placing my order. For a split second I thought about just tolerating her abuse but then I thought if she’s this annoyed with me then do I really trust that the food is going to be good? No. And I definitely didn’t want to actually show up and deal with her in person.
After how nasty she was on the phone I was like what if she berates me in person too. It was literally minutes of her just being nasty and then ramping it up and ramping it up more.
Based on the other reviews, it seems like service is not their forte.

Really great food for the price! The lunch special is an especially good deal, and all of the sides and appetizers were delicious and fairly priced as well. I was surprised by how large the portions were for the lunch special as specials like these at comparable takeout places tend to be heavy on the rice and light on the proteins, veggies and sauce. The scallion pancakes were especially a hit. The free delivery was an unexpected surprise that we also appreciated. The gal on the phone was a bit abrasive, but it wouldn’t deter us from ordering again in a heartbeat.
