Dish at the Beach is a great after-work spot, especially to unwind with coworkers. The music is good, the ocean breeze is amazing, and the overall vibe is relaxed and fun. You’ll see a lot of military families, which adds to the laid-back, community feel.
Just a heads up, since it’s located inside the Kapilina military housing area, you’ll need a valid ID and vehicle registration to get through the gate.
Pro tip: get in line right away. The line is long and nonstop, and they do run out of food. Don’t think you can wait until the line gets shorter, it really doesn’t .
Overall, great vibes, great setting by the beach, and a fun place to hang out. Just come prepared, arrive early, and line up as soon as you get there!

If you’re looking to escape the typical tourist “hustle and bustle” of Hawaii, D’lish at the Beach is the absolute best-kept secret on the island. While everyone else is fighting for space in the busier hubs, this spot offers a truly laid-back, local vibe that feels like a genuine escape. It is the perfect place to just slow down and actually enjoy the island’s beauty without the noise; it feels like a private sanctuary for anyone who wants to truly relax and soak in the authentic atmosphere.
One of the most unique and mesmerizing parts about this spot is getting to watch the airplanes glide by. It’s such a peaceful, almost therapeutic experience to sit back with a drink and watch them come and go against the stunning Hawaiian sky. It’s tucked away enough to feel like a “secret spot,” yet it remains incredibly welcoming. If you want the real Hawaii experience—minus the stress—look no further. This is easily my favorite place to unwind and just be. Mahalo, D’lish!

First time visiting. On the outside doesn’t look like anything more than a snack shack at the shore. Little hard to find the menu, but after that all good. Nice people taking your order. Ordered an ahi melt. Thought the pricing was fair based on today’s inflated prices. Lots of outdoor seating with shade if you want it. Food was delicious and super fresh. Can’t beat the views either. Would definitely return.

Very chill. Beautiful views and DLISH food and drinks. I got the fish tacos, chips and dips, adult Tropicana, and cucumber watermelon cooler.

Come on Wednesday evenings, for a very casual and locals vibe on the beach.
Get yourself a cocktail and choose from nearly a dozen food trucks nearby serving up a wide variety of grub ranging from smash burgers, Thai, Filipino, Cajun, and more.
Grapefruit Spritz, refreshing with no complaints.

Shack sized Eatery off of the dog beach at Kapilina. The acai bowl was refreshing and their fries and panini of the day were tasty.

This is the cutest place for a meal and cocktails. Right on the ocean with a cool vibe. We were there on a Friday night had live band so we hung around on the grass listening for an hour after eating dinner. Food was great and each meal prepared to order. You need license and car registration to get through the gate entering naval base.

I ate at D’lish so many times during my trip, they probably thought I worked there. The food is fresh, homemade, and the rotating menu kept us coming back. German night’s schnitzel and potato pancakes? Yes. Weekend waffles and breakfast sandwich on the beautiful beach? Also yes.
Add picnic tables, great view of Diamond Head, and live music on the weekends, and you’ve got the ultimate vacation hangout. 10/10 would overstay my welcome again.
