The Frenchmans Widow is back and better than ever. We strive for great customer service, as well as providing fresh food to each customer. The ambience of the restaurant is sure to please any customer as it’s very inviting and friendly. All orders are cooked to order and ingredients are cut fresh daily. The Frenchmans, Widow, also partners with local businesses in order to provide great desserts and support our community. we are hopeful that within the next few months, we will be able to bring both great food and great times to Herrin .

Great place to have in Herrin. My husband had a burger with fries and I had a fish sandwich with cheese curds. We both really enjoyed our meals. Great flavor and perfectly cooked. It was all fresh and hot.

The Zombie burger was for fat kids, this burger was large and very fulfilling…the fish sandwich wasn’t expected, also a big portion with alot of crispy and perfectly cooked fish… we will be back to try some of the other interesting items they have to offer …wishing I would have tried this place sooner

So glad we discovered this place! The food was excellent, and Bailey was a very attentive and friendly server. It’s a quaint little place with a cool French Quarter decor vibe. I got the patty melt and onion rings, my daughter got the mushroom swiss burger and French onion soup, and my son got the cheese curd burger and fries. All delicious!

We had a party with 14 guests. Our server Bailey went above and beyond to make our night wonderful. It was a perfect night and I would give her 10 out 5 stars if possible. The food was absolutely amazing. I tried the bruschetta for the 1st time as an appetizer and it was some of the best I’ve ever had. The menu had a great variety that accommodated all our guests. Thanks Frenchman’s Widow for helping us have a such a great time.

I LOVED The Philly and cheese curds the first time, but this last time was so bad I didn’t even eat my sandwich. It was like they tried to sprinkle pepper and salt on it, but accidentally dumped half the bottles and then didnt bother to fix or remake it. Luckily I had a $25 off doordash promo so I didn’t actually have to pay for it but I am very disappointed. Last time I ordered they were closed as well and didn’t turn off their DoorDash so I paid $20 for a lunch I didn’t get, and then didn’t get refunded for 3 days so had to skip lunch that day. So that’s 2x that I’ve skipped lunch when ordering The Frenchman’s Widow. I probably won’t order here again since the seasoning is inconsistent and the DoorDash ghost order incident. Sad bc the very first one i had was actually very delicious. Giving 3 stars instead of 2 just because that first one was SO good, but 2 stars seems fair for the 2 times I skipped my lunch.

Very neat bar and grill. The building itself is true piece of Herrin history. Love the exposed natural brick on the inside walls. Hopefully it has some longevity this time because it has closed down a couple times, and I would like to see it last. The food was excellent , I had the patty melt and it was delicious . My wife had the Buffalo wrap and she really enjoyed it. The wraps are big and filling. I look forward to visiting again next time I am in town. The beer selection definitely needs increased, but I am sure they will once they get going at full capacity. Awesome friendly service as well! Ask for Bailey she was an amazing server!

Our old hangout redone. Wonderful place and the waitress was so friendly. We told her all about what a great place that was in our work days. We had pretzels and cheese curds with cheese dip. A large portion and tea for drinks. Wonderful place I will be going back. Good luck to you!

Our first time at the Frenchman’s Widow, it did not disappoint. We both ordered the fish sandwich with a side of fried mushrooms. The fish sandwich was huge. Came with plenty of toppings. Everything was delicious. Look forward to going back. Friendly atmosphere, great service with a smile.
I will note, we followed Google maps and it took us to the wrong building. Through pictures of the actual building we had no trouble spotting it. I did report the issue to Google.
