Oh my! What can we say?! We stayed in Shrewsbury for a few nights and came across this cracking chippy. Service was brilliant, and the place was lovely and clean, the food was absolutely fantastic!! We had battered haddock, large chips and homemade curry. It was phenomenal! One portion was enough for both of us. Will definitely visit again next time we are there.

I am sad that I have to write this review we have never had any issues with this fish and chip shop untill today. We ordered a large fish and chips, chips were of a good size but unfortunately the fish was very poor. From previous visits the fish has been massive and so full of fish. This time it was so small, and there was hardly any fish at all I’m extremely disappointed especially when we haven’t had any issues previously

We recently visited The Shire Fryer and were really impressed. We ordered the halloumi burger and the falafel wrap, and both were excellent. My wife hasn’t stopped raving about the halloumi burger—she says it’s the best she’s ever had, and I have to agree it was incredibly well done. The falafel wrap was fresh and full of flavor, and the chips were perfectly crispy and generously portioned.
Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food you’re getting, which makes the experience even better. The staff were friendly and welcoming, creating a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
The only downside is the parking, which can be a bit tricky, but honestly, the food more than makes up for it. If you’re in the area and looking for a great meal, I’d highly recommend giving The Shire Fryer a try.

Called today steak and kidney pie and a cone of chips £6.50,
Steak pie as it had no kidney and not sure if it was steak as just stringy bit’s of meat in gravy and at £3.60 a pie felt ripped off when I can bye a good steak and kidney pie with chunks of steak and kidney for half that price, you pie today wasn’t worth £1 let alone £3.60, and if I hadn’t drove 3 miles back to where I was working I would of brought it back to you.

I feel really bad for writing this as the food from this place is great and the guys who put the food in the fryer/cook in the back seem really polite!
My poor review comes having visited this place many times over the past 2 years and unfortunately finding that the female staff on the tills are absolutely miserable. I know it may not be the most thrilling job in the world but it honestly costs nothing to give eye contact and the occasional smile. I’m only writing this in the hope that the individuals involved realise they’re putting people off coming back (we only go there due to Df Options).
