A slightly different take on a steakhouse here in Texas. Lots of open air and rustic decor but the flavor profile was more Tex-mex in execution. That said, the Country Fried Steak was spectacular with that amazing gravy. In all fairness, it’s the gravy that made the entree shine. Shiner Bock on tap and a decent selection of food makes this a nice little stop when traveling through the area. I would return.

Awesome place with great food and drinks.

My wife and I sat at the bar and had the two best bartenders/servers you could ask for, Brittney and Amber.

We started with the roasted corn esquites dip which was really good.

My wife had an 8oz sirloin cooked to perfection, brussel sprouts and roasted potato’s with cornbread. She described it as outstanding.

I had the pork chop, brussel sprouts and roasted potato’s. Pork chop was hands down the best I’ve had.

Drinks were every bit as good as the meal….

We decided to try out a newish hot spot on a rainy Wednesday night in December. We were familiar with this spot when it was the Rodeo Rose and weren’t expecting to many changes. It is now Rancho Seco, a latin/country themed restaurant and bar. We were greeted by our host halfway into the building and ushered to our seats in a particular section. We requested a former student of mine’s, waiting section. Samson was our waiter with the biggest smile in town. Got us setup with some drinks and apps. I got a coke zero/diet coke blend with grenadine and my wife a Sangria. We picked the Jalepeno poppers for our app with a Chipotle ranch. Poppers were delish Chipotle ranch was very wet but still tasty. For our mains we got the Rancho Seco burger and the Grilled Gallo. We decided to cut in half our food and share to taste both. The burger was quite one note for me, it was very bitter and also wet. Like dripping out of every centimeter of the bun. Hard to eat as a “handheld” so I forked it. My grilled chicken sandwich was the opposite. The chicken was dried out and over grilled. The only way I could describe it tasted like a hotel’s ashtray. I couldn’t taste any marinade or seasoning. Just dried out, plain, over-charred chicken. I was really hoping I could get an amazing grilled chicken sandwich as they are quite rare. Each dish was served with “shoestring” fries, and they were not skinny cut, they were regular fry cut. Not that it matters, but it was advertises as shoestring. They were well seasoned and cooked decently. Some chew(no snap or crunch on the outside) and fluffy on the inside. I ordered an extra side of charro beans that were well cooked, put they put pico de gallo on top, and that was unfortunately all it tasted like, and lost their bean essence. Samson and I being Christian brothers, he asked me how everything was and I shared my opinions honestly. He called the manager over and I discussed it with her. Not wanting or needing anything in return. Just pure honest feedback. She ended up brining us a comp dessert and gift card to make up for our inconvenience. We tried to refuse but she insisted. The dessert was bread pudding with vanilla bean ice cream and it tasted delicious. Probably the best part of the meal. We will go back and definitely give this place a second try soon.

Wow! We are visiting the area and this is hidden gem. The filet would exceed any famous steakhouse. The right char cook and flavor it needed nothing, well except more. The Brussels and corn were equally exceptional. The charro beans were some of the best we have ever had. Additionally we had the charbroiled oysters and they were great. Everything from service to atmosphere and then topped with the food. A great experience. Stop in. I’ll think you will be amazed.

Solid experience. Steak was good and the brussel sprouts were amazing as a side. The potato side was not the greatest so I will definitely get a different side next time. The jalapeno cornbread was so good I would advise them to offer it as a side option as well.

The food was absolutely great. Service was excellent, all of the staff was super friendly and took excellent care of us during our visit. The new decor is very cool. Definitely a great place to eat. Sirloin Steak was great, it was seasoned well and very tender. The chicken fried steak was beyond great one of the tenderest chicken fried steaks we’ve ever had. Carne Asada fries were great! We will definitely be back. Our server was great! Ask for Peyton if you want to be well taken care of.

First of all, Iyanaha D was our server and she was the nicest server I’ve ever had!!!! We got the Carne Asada Fries as an appetizer, the fries were cheesy and crispy and hot and the carne asada had amazing flavor! I got the country fried steak mashed potatoes, the steak was fork tender and the perfect crispness! The potatoes were so good and their take on the gravy is delicious!!! My husband had the steak, green beans and potatoes. The steak was cooked to perfection the green beans were fresh and delicious! I’ve read some reviews that were negative and all I have to say about those reviews is they must’ve been having a bad day cause this place is top notch!!!!!

My son took me out to lunch here to celebrate my birthday. I had never been here before but I will surely be coming back! Everything was nearly perfect! I ordered the, Rancho Seco burger and was not disappointed! It’s definitely a two hand burger and very tasty along with the sweet potatoe fries. The service was great too.
We were there on a very nice and temperate afternoon so they had the big doors open which only added to the ambiance. I would definitely reccomend!
