Reviews
For those seeking vegetarian and vegan choices, Ginger Thai provides a commendable selection. We indulged in a variety of dishes, including flavorful Thai iced coffee, crispy spring rolls, and savory fried chive vegetable dumplings with a spicy garlic sauce. The Tom Yum soup, while enjoyable, lacked the distinct bamboo flavor often associated with this classic dish.Main courses consisted of flavorful Pineapple Fried Rice, Pad Thai with tofu, and Red Curry with tofu and vegetables.
While all dishes were well-presented and served in generous portions, a subtle “something” seemed to be missing in the overall taste of each, leaving us wanting more authentic Thai flavors.
The Mango Sticky Rice dessert proved to be a delightful conclusion to the meal.
Overall:
* Ambience: 4 stars (Pleasant and comfortable)
* Vegetarian Options: 4 stars (Good selection available)
* Service: 4 stars (Friendly and attentive)
* Taste: 3 stars (While enjoyable, lacked the full depth of authentic Thai flavors)
* Portion Size: 5 stars (Generous portions)
It is a decent option for a casual meal, especially if you’re looking for a friendly atmosphere and a good selection of vegetarian dishes. However, those seeking an authentic Thai culinary experience might find the flavors slightly underwhelming.
The portions are plentiful for the price, and we usually have some to bring home, even if we just get entrees. The food is flavorful, spiced well, and tastes more authentic than some other nearby options.
This restaurant was A+++! A true small feel place with great service and delicious food. The ambiance was pleasant. John, the host and server, had the best demeanor ever. He was calm, courteous, and informational. The food hit every spot and we tried a variety of items.
Three appetizers:
Chicken Satay – amazing
Curry Puffs – not my personal favorite but the family enjoyed them.
Spring rolls – cannot go wrong with spring rolls!
Service was amazing (above).
Bathroom was clean as a whistle.
Decor was soothing.
Prices were moderate for the area.
Food came out quickly.
Portions were great.
And we had no leftovers so that speaks volumes.
Take an appetite. Give the place a shot. They had lots of to-go orders going out and they are on Uber Eats. DoorDash. Menu is in pics.
Oh. And have the Thai tea!!!
Highly recommend. We will be going back!
Tried this restaurant on Friday night for dinner.
Ambiance-
A good, simple vibe in the restaurant.Good amount of inside and outside seating.
Service-
Service was quick and the server was very polite and attentive.
Food –
We ordered
Thai iced coffee- I liked the iced coffee, right amount of sweetness.
Drunken noodles- we ordered at thai hot spice, they were so good. The spice was damn hot which is what we like. A must try dish.
Spice basil thai – we thought this was a curry but it came out as a stir fry kinda dish with basil flavors. The dish was good but the chicken was rubbery.
Mochi desert – we loved the mango and coconut mochi, very delicious.
The green tea flavour was not that good.
If you like mochi do try the mango and coconut flavors.
Would recommend if you really are looking for good thai flavors.
The menu is quite extensive, the portions, especially the main courses are on the bigger size. Very impressive is their duck selection, featuring 9 different duck dishes. Our Tamarind Duck was very good, both crispy on the outside and succulent inside. Our Spicy Seafood Ginger prepared with mussels, shrimp and squid was equally good.
The prices are average, a bit on the expensive side for a Thai restaurant. The pick-up staff was efficient.
Food is excellent and prepared quickly. My brother and father both tried the Thai iced tea which was traditional and excellent and seemed to have a hint of chocolate. I had the mango aloe vera (with honey) drink which was tasty, light and refreshing.
I had the spicy ginger beef which had a lot of flavor. Yes, it was spicy with chili and plenty of ginger throughout. Think jalapeno potato chips hot, and then double it. For all that, there were notes of tomato and lemongrass, and the vegetables were crispy. A lovely dish which the aloe vera drink, plus an order of Thai rice helped to tame the spiciness.
The menu itself had many if the standard Thai favorites. Red curry, green curry, pad Thai, etc. An interesting option included multiple duck dishes which I tend to try next time.
It’s comfortable, quiet and intimate. Food of excellent quality and variety. Can’t ask for more.
