At Bløm Mead + Cider (pronounced “bloom”), we make what we like to call session meads and ciders – they’re light, dry, carbonated, and remarkably sessionable. For our meads, we start with the same ingredients as a traditional mead – honey, water and yeast – which means we can source all of our ingredients from Michigan. Unlike most meads though, we ferment it like a dry craft cider, so the result isn’t nearly as thick or sweet. Our downtown Ann Arbor taproom is a community space with weekly events including trivia, board game night and yoga. We also partner up with local businesses to bring in special events and pop-ups. We’ve always got movies playing on the projector and new flavors on tap. Check our calendar for an updated list!

cute place with board games and serves cider and mead. got rh raspberry cider and the ginger one and they were good! was able to snag a seat and play board games for a few hours which was fun! also had a tv playing the game.

Bløm Meadworks is not a typical bar. It is a warm, welcoming space built around community, with an incredible lineup of events that make you want to stay and connect. The mead completely changes expectations. It is dry, carbonated, and sessionable at 4 to 6 percent ABV, not heavy or overly sweet. Matt’s brewing background shows in how balanced and drinkable everything is, and the fact that it is gluten free makes it even better.
Lauren and Matt are incredible people who have built something special. Ann Arbor is lucky to have Bløm.

Such a friendly inviting place. Service was excellent taking the time to explain everything to me a newbie! I I had a flight with four different ciders and meads, All were super delicious. Definitely a stop I would come back to when I’m in the area!

Our non-profit, Lori’s Hands, hosted a fundraising event at Bløm last week. They were absolutely fantastic to work with! The food, drinks, and atmosphere was absolutely perfect for the 25 guests we hosted. Lauren, one of Bløm’s owners, was incredibly detail-oriented, punctual, and helpful from start to finish. We are so grateful to have held our event here, and look forward to hosting more in the future! I can’t say enough about how great of a spot this is.

I stopped by Bløm just to try their meads, but it’s a really cool space. The interior is bright and warm, and the staff was friendly and informative. I tried a flight of their meads and ciders, and they were surprisingly good. Nothing was cloyingly sweet, and the flavors were well balanced. These meads were on the drier side and quite light, but still flavorful. I think the black currant mead was my personal favorite. I’d definitely recommend Bløm if you already like meads or are looking to try something new.

I am not a huge fan of mead, but Blom Mead has a slightly different take on mead! It’s a little more bubbly and I loved them all! I enjoyed whitefish dip snack with my drinks. They had a big screen for football and sports to watch and a plethora of games you can take to your table to play. Definitely will be back next time we are in Ann Arbor.

There’s a great selection of mead here, with options to suit every taste. I prefer sweeter meads, and the strawberry rhubarb never disappoints. The staff is friendly and happy to offer samples until you find the perfect one. The space is clean and minimally designed – simple but pleasant. Seating isn’t the coziest, but it’s fine for a short visit. They often host events, and I recently enjoyed the Witchy Woo event, which featured live music and a tasty pastry stand where I picked up some delicious vegan puppy chow. Their comedy nights are also a fantastic deal. Definitely worth checking out!

I didn’t know I loved mead until I found Bløm!! A top spot for me in Ann Arbor since moving here in 2009. Their products are totally unique, delicious, and made with a lot of thought and care. The mead is refreshing…But it warms you up. And feels like flowers and cuddly bees, and fruit and bubbles.
The owners are community-oriented. Fantastic atmosphere inside (and on the patio) – they host all sorts of fun events like trivia and board game nights. Just good vibes all around and the mead is freaking good.

I enjoyed my dry cider, and I love what they are doing with local musicians! What a wonderful way to build community. Bløm was also playing Fantastic Mr. Fox when I entered– this place knows how to make a chill & engaging space.
