I recently ordered from this Japanese restaurant through Uber, and although there was initially an issue with my order not being delivered completely, the way the restaurant handled the situation truly impressed me.
After realizing that some items were missing, I contacted the restaurant to inform them. Instead of ignoring the issue or shifting responsibility, the owner and the manager personally took action to fix the mistake.
To my surprise, they drove to deliver the missing items to me themselves. This level of responsibility and genuine care for their customers is something I rarely experience.
Their effort completely changed what could have been a negative situation into a very positive and memorable one. It showed professionalism, accountability, and sincere hospitality.
As a visitor in Sri Lanka, this experience made me feel truly happy and appreciated. I am very impressed by the kindness and service here, and I would gladly order from them again.

One of the stand-out things about the outlet is that they have quite a few Private Dining Rooms. Some of the PDR’s come with its own washroom.
I highly recommend the spicy tuna and the chicken karage with the slightly sweet soy sauce.

This is my favorite spot for Japanese food, and I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been here. They’ve never let me down! The customer service is exceptional—friendly, supportive, and welcoming no matter the time of your visit. Even if you arrive close to closing, they treat you with the same warmth, and the food quality is consistently outstanding. I’ve tried sushi and laksa at other places, but none come close to this. I truly hope they continue their great work, and it would be amazing if they could expand their menu with more sushi options!

Went for Lunch at Yamato Japanese Restaurant, and it really is one of the best Japanese restaurants in Colombo. Had the Spicy tuna salad, which was excellent, 8 pc salmon and tuna sashimi, fried squid tentacles, and a fried soft tofu. All the food eats exceptionally and the portion sizes were generous. Also, unlike many Japanese restaurants in Colombo, the wasabi was actually strong, which was great. Finished with a single scoop of green tea ice cream which had a proper matcha flavour.
The prices are premium, but I think it is worth it. The service was really good and the ambiance of the restaurant is quite pleasant. Will definitely be going back!

Had a really good experience. Food was great tasty very authentic. Sashimi was out of this world, tempura veggies were really light and crisp. I would recommend this place very highly. And real value for money as well. Not to mention the staff and the service was really top class.

Good sushi. Had a decent variety. Had to ask for the ginger, wasabi, and light soy sauce. We had members in the group that weren’t too familiar with sushi so the dishes we ordered definitely made them big fans.
