The Fox Den is located inside The Northern Center, 1/4 mile off M55 on with west side of Houghton Lake, 2 miles east of Old 27. Open for the dinner hours only, we provide too quality dishes from our expansive menu, mixed with daily and weekly specials. While our dining room may not be traditional seeing as though we do use one of our banquet rooms for dining service, we make up for it with great service and a clean comfortable atmosphere. The food is tastes homemade. I ordered the perch dinner with light batter. It reminded me of my childhood when my grandfather would fry up some lake perch for us. We also ordered the fried mushrooms and they are huge and very tasty.

First and foremost, the bisque was creamy and tasted homemade; the carbonara was no different. Above all, I was very impressed with the service, and my waitress, Faith, was a perfect example. Beard hair. Idk who, idk how, but it was in my food. My server, faith, was great, water refilled five times without asking. The manager thought we were staring at him (I still don’t know who the manager is). Don’t choose the furthest left table, everyone who sat there left before they ordered. The pen smeared all over my friend’s face after signing the receipt. AI fox banners everywhere.

Have been looking forward to our first visit and it did not disappoint. Friendly service & the food was fresh, hot & delishous. Sorry had half of mine eaten before I took the pic. Fish sandwich & Steak n Shrimp. Definitely recommed.

I took my dad to the races for Father’s Day, and we decided to stop at The Fox Den for dinner on the way. We were all very glad that we did! I love my bacon cheeseburgers, and the Foxy is probably one of the biggest ones I’ve ever had!! I could only eat half! And it was sooo good! The onion rings are to die for! Dad had the fried shrimp dinner, and he said it was delicious! He really loved the fries. Lily had the chicken fingers, and she was really happy with them! And they have Widowmaker on tap! I highly recommend stopping here if you’re in Houghton Lake. We might just make the trip back to try the fried ice cream!!

Sontet the outside fool you. It looks like a pole barn, . Great food and service. The prime rib was excellent, as was the mashed and foxy potatoes. Bonus, they had Widow Maker on draft. Will definitely be back.
