Golden lotus Newington is a new restaurant offering traditionally cooked with all the authentic flavour that well prepared fresh to order. We offer a unique dine in experience or you can phone ahead and pick your order up for take away. We had birthday dinner out there The Highlight served by Tina.She made the most beautiful dessert for my friend . This is a little story; The mango sticky dessert was all sold out. The staff say it has been popular. It was Sunday evening. Tina however made special dessert : waffle as base, mango and ice cream on the top. It was not on the menu. We felt very welcomed. Always enjoy coming to this place. I usually come here with my husband, great food, great service. Little bit more special this time when I got served by a little adorable waitress, handed in the menu and told me what to order by pointing at the pictures. Must try the pineapple fried rice, initially I was shocked when I saw sultana in the fried rice, never thought it would go well with the fried rice but after I had a bite, I just love it!!

Orderd Chinese broccoli and always had the same dish… order again and get nothing but bok choi for $25 call the restaurant and they tell me… BOK CHOI IS CHINESE BROCCOLI….. told them that’s a lie as I am a frequent customer and she hung up on me… never again will someone lie and disrespect me as this is for my little kids…. see you later terrible restaurant

Highly recommend the crispy pork with rice dish. The best crispy pork I have had, amazingly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Tina is the lovely owner who always makes you feel at home.

We had some issues with the meals we purchased last week, but this was more than rectified by James, the manager of the restaurant, and his team.
Thank you so much James, for your graciousness and for your positive response in attending to our concerns. Our meals delicious and perfect, and if this standard is maintained I’d have to say that your red duck curry is the best one I have had in all of Sydney. The chilli squid was crunchy and spicy and so delicious.
We look forward to eating here often.

Not sure if it is still the same owner. Got scammed today at LUNCH.
I used the lunch menu to order lunch special which is $14 each. I am a regular customer for over 5 years.
They charged us $42 for 2 lunch dishes because they gave two full size dishes. I didn’t order the full size and clearly the waiter took the wrong order. I didn’t notice the size is larger.
I know the boat noodle soup is $15.9 but today the cashier said all noodle soup is $15.9 (not clearly stated in the menu). This is disgusting that they charge us so much more for lunch dish and refused to refund $14 to us. We paid in the first place because they told us it was our fault that we didn’t tell the waiter that we want lunch special. (He gave us the lunch special menu though)
Finally got $5 back but we still paid $9 extra for their mistake / miscommunication. I will definitely tell all my friends and neighbours beware of this situation and don’t get scammed.
Food was good, especially the tom yum soup. If it is not because of this incident, I will definitely go back regularly. Very disappointed.

I recommend the Thai green tea, egg fried rice, crispy pork belly with dry egg noodles (although the noodle is a bit too sweet), spring rolls!! Will definitely go back again

This was one of the best restaurants around this area that I’ve been too! Truly amazing food. We got the pad Thai, pad see ew, and the spicy squid. This feed satisfied our Thai food craving! Would definitely recommend!
