BEST GREEN CHILI CHEESE FRIES, HANDS DOWN! (And I’m a Native Coloradan, so I know my green chili cheese fries!)
Here’s why – because they do them right! Instead of putting the green chili all over the top of the fries, they put most of it on the bottom so your fries don’t get soggy and you can mix in the amount of green chili you want as you go! Fries were crispy and made perfectly! Anyone visiting here should order these, you won’t be disappointed!
This was our first time here and we were very happy with our choice! We sat on the older decor side (you’ll understand once you go here) because the history of the Buffalo Restaurant and Bar is showcased better on this side. The actual bar is open seating, but you need to see the host to get an actual table.
The service was great and the bartender was very friendly and nice, she gave us great service! The beers are good too, if you’re an IPA fan, they definitely have quite a few of those. We ordered the Bison Burger in addition to the Green Chili Cheese fries, and the burger was phenomenal!
Overall, it was a very good experience! Service was good, food was amazing, prices for things were reasonable and all the boxes got checked so we were happy we decided to come eat here! I highly recommend visiting this restaurant while in Idaho Springs!

It was great that they offer a fruit alternative to fries for the kids. Our toddler enjoyed this. Very family friendly establishment.

Food was fresh and out in minutes and so was my cocktail! The Philly was really good! They fly in the rib-eye from Philly

Jeremy was my server and he was awesome!! Five stars!!! Definitely check this place out if you can!! They have a nice cocktail menu and solid beers from the craft brewery next door (Westbound & Down)!!

I love this place. Spectacular food, and the best bar service one could ever imagine. Love me some Scott. I did have a different bartender this time, and I forgot her name. But she obviously had a heart for Scott as well. I had the hamburger with the chili soup and it was amazing two margaritas and I was ready to go home and go straight to bed. I love the old taxidermy, buffalo heads, the frontier art work in the dining area and know that the bar is actually a part of history itself..well it’s like walking into the wild wild West. Super fun!

Place has changed its name. Its Westbound and down. They dont serve buffalo burgers anymore. Tried their beef burgers. They were Nothing special. Tried their fries covered in chilli. They were good. Philly cheese sandwich was good. Service was ok. Ended up paying $175 for ok food, ok beer and ok service.

Absolutely wonderful friendly service at the bar and great conversation with the bartender. Super military and first responder friendly. They even have challenge coins, so make sure to bring one of yours for them to display and get one in return. The food and beer were also excellent. The entire place was charming, clean, and welcoming. Definitely a don’t miss in Idaho Springs. Prices were a little high but that’s typical for the area.

The fried tofu sandwich is phenomenal they home make their dressings too. The ranch and honey mustard are yummy. They have a good selection of their own beers including lots of IPA also the bbq cauliflower wings were very good! Make my plant based heart happy ❤️

Went here after a hike and it’s absolutely beautiful. The bar is a genuine old west saloon. Huge selection for house brewed beers. The food is also very good. The pretzel is a must and baked fresh. Service was fast and friendly.

If you happen to be in Idaho Springs, pls check out this place even to say hi to Hennah! She is amazing person, the most friendly person I ever met. Most of the places were closed around and she made us hot chocolate on the go bcuz we were cold and needed something hot and sweet. I will def visit her when I’m back to town again!
