HEAVENLY!
Such a special experience. Lovely restaurant and the best fresh food and seafood. Such creative dishes, hard to pick 1or 2. Had a taste of their oysters, tuna, octopus salad, smoked trout and the swordfish tacos. Heavenly. All the food was heavenly . Will be going back soon and recommending to all my friends.

Just opened three weekends ago so we had the place ourselves except for one other guest. It was a Sunday lunch. Beautiful day and the large overhead door was opened. Lots of covered patio seating. Wife and I had the swordfish tacos (2 per order). We both enjoyed them a lot.
Then shared the Cesar salad, which was delicious but is rather unique for a Cesar salad. Shredded green and red cabbage, no romaine, for example. Chef makes an umami crumble sprinkle that was very nice. And it comes with chicken thigh meat and an egg yolk. Maybe needs a name change? Delicious, great staff, good views.

The food was outstanding — every dish was interesting and packed with flavor. You can tell everything is done with real thought and care. The sweet potatoes were smoked, the tortillas were fresh-made, and the lamb shank was so tender it fell right off the bone. Every single dish we tried, we looked at each other and said, “You have to try this.” Chef Daniel is doing something special here, and it shows in every bite. This was an exceptional meal at Marzul Coastal Cuisine, and we can’t wait to go back.

This restaurant was so amazing and the service was amazing! My son who is very picky about steak ordered a second serving. We are definitely coming back. Polly was our waitress and she was very respectful, polished and seasoned. The dot dash game on the kids menus was so fun we asked for 3 paper mats just to play again. It’s a brain twister. Can’t wait to come back!

My boyfriend and I had an incredible experience on our date night. We got the tasting menu and added a few more dishes to share.
My favorites were the Ahi tuna, smoked trout, swordfish taco and churro ice cream. The attention to detail in the flavor profiles and presentation were elevated and truly impressive. One of my favorites meals in San Diego.
The service was outstanding. Matt was our server and Daniel, one of the chef’s came out to deliver and explain a few of the dishes.
The Atmosphere is elegant while still being cozy and comfortable. I can’t wait to come back to during the day to enjoy the outside area.
I must note we were not staying at the hotel, we are San Diego residents and this our second outstanding dining experience at the new Gaylord Pacific hotel. Old Hickory Steakhouse is also wonderful.

Everything here tasted decent. It’s just hard to pinpoint what this place was trying to be. It has the pricing and portion size of a fine dining restaurant with the atmosphere of an annoying backyard barbecue. I don’t know why I’d go back after listening to their millenial tik tok music for 2 hours straight while spending $40 on pasta the size of a hockey puck. The only standout on the menu was the sweet potatoes, but even that dish was questionably fitting the Baja California theme. Every other dish pretentiously imitated food found a short drive away from the hotel, without doing anything interesting enough to make their prices worth their weight. I will commend the servers for being very accommodating and polite. However, I stopped ordering at the $80 mark and left neither full, hungry, nor satisfied.

Beautiful restaurant for a daytime meal! Our server Nayezda was Personable, handmade great recommendations… The Caesar salad was epic and the octopus salad was out of this world. Also enjoyed the strawberry pudding, yogurt, rice pudding, dessert. Highly recommend.

I am a local that grew up right here. Not a fan of all this development at all but l will always welcome a quality restaurant. This is the industry that I retired from. We waited out in the open space untill we found the host after servers walked feet from us ignoring us. We were confused where to go or if we should sit wait or stand around. A busser finally greeted us and slow service continued we sat anywhere and they were informed it was my birthday. Drinks took a long time and it was not busy at all. Food was really good and that’s it

The food here was phenomenal. Every dish that my wife and I tried was a blast and an explosion of flavor. We were amazed how every dish just kept on getting better and better. Highly recommend the pork belly dish and the lamb shank. You can honestly not go wrong with anything you pick.
