Reviews
We chose the Restoration Hardware restaurant for my birthday dinner, and in many ways, it delivered a memorable night—just not for the reasons we hoped. First, the setting is undeniably stunning. Housed in the former mansion of Christel DeHaan, the space is elegant, immaculate, and beautifully lit. It manages to feel both grand and intimate, with soaring openness that still invites quiet conversation. After dinner, strolling through the galleries with a glass of wine and admiring furniture well outside our budget was genuinely delightful, and honestly, worth the trip on its own.
The meal started strong. The Di Stefano Burrata and Crispy Artichokes were well-executed—the artichokes lived up to their name without being greasy, and the lemon aioli hit all the right notes. Unfortunately, the entrées fell short. My wife’s grilled shrimp were noticeably overcooked, with a blackened spice rub and tough texture. My rotisserie chicken suffered a similar fate—dry, under-seasoned, and lacking in flavor. The replacement was an improvement, but still not what you would expect at this price point.
What truly shined was the service. Our servers were warm, attentive, and gracious, and the chicken was comped without me even asking—a classy move that didn’t go unnoticed.
In the end, Restoration Hardware offers a spectacular atmosphere and exceptional service, but the food didn’t match the setting or the cost. We’d happily return for a glass of wine and the ambiance—but probably not for dinner.
I first brought my mother here for her birthday, and more recently returned for lunch with business consultants. What struck me most on the second visit was that, remarkably, the experience had become even more refined. There is a quiet consistency at work here that suggests discipline rather than show.
From the moment of arrival, the valet service sets the tone—gracious, efficient, and unhurried. Walking through the mansion and its grounds feels intellectually and aesthetically pleasing. The light, scale, and restraint of the space create a sense of calm confidence that is increasingly rare.
The food reflects the same philosophy. Thoughtfully executed, beautifully plated, and confident without excess. Service unfolds with an easy cadence—present, attentive, and never performative. Every detail feels intentional, signaling genuine thoughtfulness rather than theatrics.
This is a place that understands elegance as discipline, not indulgence. An environment designed for conversation, reflection, and lingering well beyond the meal itself.
