Reviews
I was very happy to see that it was still there and was as I remembered. It’s a bustling friendly inviting place.
The menu is extensive and has a lot of dishes that I would be likely to order.
The food came quickly and was very flavorful and well prepared.
The drinks were very good as well. The host and hostess were very friendly.
1. It’s not the best Chinese food in the world. It’s also nowhere close to the worst. I understand some reviewers have had bad food here, and I don’t discount those reviews–maybe the cook has a bad day now and then. All I know is that nothing we got was bad, it was all good, but yeah, perhaps it isn’t what you would get at a place that charges three times the price. It was good enough and priced low enough that I would go back again. The only odd thing was that we got a plate of steamed vegetables and they had zero seasoning or sauce on them. They were good steamed vegetables, don’t get me wrong, but they weren’t even salted, so I’m inclined to think someone forgot part of the prep checklist in making them.
2. The bathrooms are not bad. Granted, I lived in China for two years so I’ve seen what a real Chinese restaurant bathroom looks like, and compared to every single one of those this was the most beautiful, pleasantly fragrant experience I’ve ever had in a Chinese restaurant bathroom. If these bathrooms were in a restaurant in China, people would be flocking to that restaurant just to experience the bathrooms.
3. The service was great. Everything came out fast and hot. The two servers we interacted with were friendly and attentive.
The only real disappointment was the fortune cookies. I’m not into these cookies that give you life advice, I want a fortune! I want them to go out on a limb, take a risk, and make a prophecy about my future, like “You will find immense riches on the way home,” or “Today you will die.”
The hostess and bar staff were very friendly, that was the only positive.
Our waitress was extremely terse and rude, we basically felt unwelcome as soon as we were seated.
Our food came out promptly, but I wish it hadn’t. The sweet and sour chicken ordered had the absolute sweetest sauce I’ve ever had. There was no sour in the taste.
The soups was hot, but very bland (egg drop and wonton).
My wife got vegetable chow mein, and it was a disgusting, weird, tasteless, gelatinous mess. It was literally a bowl of soggy sprouts in a grey, sugary broth.
I really REALLY want to support local business, but I would not recommend this place to anyone.
i have looked at most of the reviews, and almost all the very negative ones are anonymous.why would you trust the opinion of somebody that won’t tell you who they are?
food was delicious and fresh, probably the best steak terriyaki that we’ve ever had! My son had fruit punch that we learned was made to order. His quote, “It’s blowing my mind!” Friendly, attentive staff. Looking forward to diving into leftovers today as the portions were huge! Highly recommend!
