We were visiting Brenham from South Carolina, and looking for some authentic Mexican food. Taqueria el Rorro was highly rated in Google Maps, and for good reason! This was the best Mexican food we’ve had in years, no exaggeration. I had an enchilada with green sauce; I asked them to substitute the meat for extra cheese and they did this no problem. The sauce was spicy, and the beans and rice it came with were full of flavor. My husband loved his brisket burrito, too! They also have some top-notch horchata. We will definitely come here again if we’re ever in the area.
The restaurant was clean, and the workers were pleasant. The only reason for four stars is that the dining area was uncomfortably hot. I’m sure the proximity to the kitchen didn’t help, but some fans or something might make all the difference.

I’m just gonna lead this off with, the next time I’m in Brenham, I’ll be looking for this spot again. Food was great. These loaded fries were amazing!!! We tasted the asada, pastor, and pulled pork and we liked the asada the most, but all were good. They had great salsas, and a large variety of sodas/drinks. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re in town.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while now. It was exactly what I expected. Tasty, authentic, delicious mexican food. I am now a weekly customer. Just awesome! The customer service is top tier as well. The prices are a little steep, but everything is expensive these days. No complaints from me. I usually get the beef nachos or a breakfast burrito.

I’ve stopped in twice for breakfast. Ordered rancheras and migas – egg dishes. The green salsa is delicious. The service is great and they have comfortable booths. Service is excellent and always super friendly. I’ll be back again 🙂

This was our first time eating here and it was fantastic! The flavors are as close to traditional Tex-Mex as you can ever get in Brenham besides going to the ethnic markets. I got Muenudo, and my kids got Carne Asada Nachos, Carne Asada Quesadilla, and Birria Quesadillas. The flavors and portion sizes are ON POINT. We came back the next day and tried different plates and they were just as great!

Terrible experience. The tacos were tiny and overpriced for what you get. Two barbacoa tacos had less meat combined than what any reasonable person would expect in a single taco.
The wait was just as bad. I waited over 25 minutes for a burrito with no apology or explanation. I literally had to sit there and stare at the counter until they finally made it nearly half an hour after ordering. Because of the delay, my buddy and I ended up eating separately and my already small tacos were cold by the time I got them.
Brenham has a lot of great food options. Unfortunately, Rurro’s is not one of them.
