Been here a just a couple times and it’s terrible. Do better if people are paying 20$ for a sandwich make it at least good and toasted not soggy. Got a turkey bacon ranch. Forgot the turkey. Tried again got soup steak and cheese. Like come on… 20$ for this??? And I sat for 30 minutes in the drive through. Someone needs to come and get this straight we don’t have good fast food in Newport and I see why.

I placed an order through the app, or perhaps my husband did, but this is my second experience with this Firehouse Subs, and I am even more appalled than before. The first time I got the turkey dinner sub, it was soggy and unappetizing, but I let that slide because of the type of sub; I thought it was just a one-time issue. However, this time I ordered the steak sub, and it was just as soggy. The bread was inedible, and all I could taste was the mayo and mustard. I’m really not satisfied, especially considering the price. My husband’s cold sub was fine, but it seems they just can’t get hot subs right. Overall, I’m disappointed with the amount of money we spent. To top it off, the delivery guy dashed down the stairs as soon as I opened the door. He didn’t even knock; he just dropped the open bag and ran away. I was about to thank him and give an extra tip, but I’m glad he left because this delivery certainly didn’t deserve a tip at all, to be honest.

After scanning the reviews it’s clear this location has been in trouble and neglected for some time. The “owner” only responds to glowing reviews that are absolutely from either employees or friends. Part of running a restaurant is the bad too and dealing with it. Stood at the front counter 5 minutes all while employees looked at me and just kept filling sauces in the back. Finally a girl came to take my order. Repeated it 3x and she still got the sandwich wrong and left my drink off. This level of incompetence is just funny to be honest. Don’t waste a trip here. Clearly this place stays afloat from lost souls who come off the interstate. Why would they fix the issues they have or even acknowledge them, right? The finish room was an absolute disaster. Drink station didn’t look like it had been tended to in days. The grate in the drink machine was somehow hanging off the front. I can tell you, if this were my crew and I came into the store in this state we’d be shutting the doors and starting with the basics or the team would be finding new jobs. As of posting I’ve waited 15 minutes.

Waited here for about 20m before just pulling out of line. This was supposed to be a quick stop, not add a half hour to my trip time and still not getting food should have read the other reviews before pulling up and ordering.. someone put this sticker on a down pile in the drive thru and I feel like no matter how much I endure a 30m wait for a $10 BLT is just not worth it.

Unreal wait for order . 25 mins , multiple workers outside smoking around back , order was handed out window wrong. Come on mangement , short staffed excuses , 5 employees visible , 2 working , 3 smoking .

Worst Firehouse Sub ever. First, lady at the register looked at me and said, “What do you want?”. Second, after I made both my subs into combos and paid for my items, she stares at me like what am I waiting for. I ask her about the cups for my drinks and she goes, “What? Here a small cup.” I said, “It says, any size on the combo, I would like a medium, and I ordered two…”. She looks and around as if she didn’t know what to do, then gives me both and goes, “I guess?”. Then I proceed to wait 20 mins for 2 subs while the staff is talking to each other about their day before, with 8 customers waiting on subs. After I get my order and get back to my hotel, I take a bite of my meatball sub and it is COLD meatballs! They didn’t even heat up the meatballs. Worst ever!

Had a great experience until I went up to ask for to go boxes!
I overheard a worker complaining “no one will respect me as a shift lead manager” as I waited. Struck me funny.
A blond worker then approached and gladly helped. While he was doing so, the black haired, butt hurt team lead or whatever cut him off. He proceeded to take over my requests (incorrectly) and absolutely overstep on his kind coworker. This kind coworker had to correct him on the mistake along with myself. I could tell from body language this was not a first
Now I completely understand why no one respects him! That was gross little man energy. Call my review childish, but that guy clearly doesn’t respect his coworkers and is whining about it to them (with customers close by) demanding better treatment, which he seemingly hasnt earned.
Date was 9/22/25 and we were just here at 2:30pm for staff reference. Make your other employees happy, ditch the loose end!!

I was pretty disappointed in the quality VS cost. Over $20 for 2 SUB PAR, medium sized subs. The order was all wrong & flavor was a little bland, with soggy bread to top it off. I would not go to this particular shop again.
