But here we are in Jersey City … we decided to venture out bc my friends told me this is their favorite place to eat Pho. They were not wrong & it was worth the trip!
We ordered the soft shell crab as an appetizer. This is probably the softest soft shell crab I’ve ever eaten. I ordered P2 w/ grilled chicken which was served on the side. I loved that it was on the side bc I was able to enjoy the authenticity of the broth. My friends ordered P4 – Pho w/ steamed shredded chicken & P6 – Beef Stew w/ rice noodles.
I really enjoyed this place and will be back the next time I’m craving for a nice bowl of Pho.
Recently, this place started selling banh mi sandwiches and it’s game changing. I tried their banh mi yesterday and came back today to get 3 more. Their banh mi is pretty up there with NYC’s Banh mi Saigon, Philly’s Ba Le, and Houston’s Don sandwich.
Bread is very fluffy, chewy, and crispy (but not too crispy where it cuts your gums). Mayo and pate were very on point and balanced. Amount of meat was also generous.
Each sandwich is about $15 but it’s enough for 2 lunches.
They were all super polite and quick, and the price was right.
Plus, they have happy hour from 4 to 7, so I’m definitely going back.
We had tried one appetizer, Fresh summer rolls with shrimp. The rolls themselves were bland. Their flavor only came from the peanut dipping sauce. This might be how they were supposed to be, but I wasn’t a fan.
We liked the two Phos that we had tried, Pho with steamed shrimp and Pho with grilled pork chops. However, they didn’t come with mint or Thai basil, which were essential IMHO.
For rice dishes, we had Shaken beef cubes with rice and Grilled short ribs over broken rice. Both had a good portion size with flavorful and tender beef/ribs.
Overall, a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
You come here for a quick bite or Dinner with the family. Recently, I came here to host a party for my dad’s birthday which was held in the bar area. They have a lot of options to choose from which also includes gluten-free and vegetarian options. It’s plated nicely. Throughout the process, Quang was very clear in communication and everything was very simple to plan!
We had Spring Rolls, Tofu Summer Rolls, Shrimp Summer Rolls, Shrimp Papaya Salad, Vegetable Fried Rice, Vegetable Pan-fried soft noodles, Beef Rolls, Fried Squid, Grilled Pork, Grilled Short Ribs. Delicious!
