Bistro Miyoda & Sushi Ichiriki Restaurant is a small unassuming eatery located in the corner of a strip mall. When you enter, you’re taken back in time. It looks the way most Japanese Restaurants used to look years ago. It’s clean and well maintained, however the tables are well worn, showing a lot of meals have been served and enjoyed here.
They have a nice selection of appetizers, Mom likes the Salmon Collar when available. There’s lots of Sushi. Sashimi, Cut Rolls, Hand Rolls, and House Specials. But, what I really like is they have Combination Dinner Boxes that are served in Bento Boxes. They also have soup and salads.
I ordered the Combination Dinner Box that included Pork Cutlet and Salmon w/Lemon Butter. Mom ordered the Sesame Chicken. The meal began with Miso Soup, which was extremely tasty. When my Dinner Box arrived it looked fantastic. The Pork Cutlet (Tonkatsu) was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and with the sauce, was delicious. The Salmon was moist, tender, and flavorful with the lemon butter. With rice, and all the other accompaniments, it was an awesome meal. Mom really liked her Sesame Chicken. She threw some my way, and I caught it in my mouth. Not really. But, that would have been cool. However, the Sesame Chicken really is very crunchy, and very good.
Service here is great, our server was very knowledgeable of the menu, and was very helpful when ordering. There was a young woman that seemed to always appear at the right time, clearing dishes, or taking care of the bill. She was very pleasant, but never lingered, and was off doing something useful. A woman even came over to the table to make sure everything was satisfactory.
In this economy, the prices here are extremely reasonable. You definitely get your money’s worth here. They seem to want the business, so I’m going to give it to them.
Lunch specials are a bargain.
For dinner, am a fan of their:
Hybrid Roll
Shogun Warrior Roll
Seared Ono Roll was just okay, probably won’t order again; not bad but not as wonderful as I had hoped.
Not a fan of their crab rolls—too much mayonnaise for my taste.
It seemed like someone with good intentions was trying to recreate sushi based on photos, but they never actually had it. The rolls looked good but the taste was weird. Good service
