Unfortunately I forgot to get photos of the food after this visit but I will add them at a later date after the next visit.
The food is a 4 star to me while everything else is a 3 star. This is one of those joints that overflows your to go plate. I recommend the chow mein and orange chicken. Due to the inflation the prices have gone up once a year in the last 3 years or so. I believe I got 4 combo A or B’s, but it is $11 each for chow mein/rice and 2 entree’s. They also do not charge CA sales tax.
1. The noodles have a sour snell and taste, as if they’re spoiled, after a couple of hours or less, along with a sticky texture.
2. They advertise as closing at 7pm, but refuse to cook food until then or otherwise at least until 630pm. They stop looking at 4pm-4:30pm and try to get you to pay money for cold scraps that are not enough to fill the trays, while also having the insulting audacity to refuse your request to therefore blend that with another selection that is also scraps.
What you’re doing is disrespectful, rude, unethical, petty, irrational, delusional, in inconsiderate, unprofessional, disregarding, dismissive. You refuse to cook food at least up to thirty minutes before your publicly listed closing time; therefore you should cease and desist on egregiously wasting peoples valuable time energy and efforts traveling there – and change it to 4:30-5pm!!!
4. They don’t have fish, no shrimp, no fried chicken that’s not spicy.
5. The minimal counter space for dine-in, is unsanitary, not cleaned nor disinfected along with the equally disgusting floors and walls and people that hang in there along with the ones who the restaurant allows to illegally taint the food and customers lungs by smoking outside of the open door instead of the federally mandated 20 feet away from it.
Place itself is ok. They charge $1 extra if you pay with card.
I got 4 items just for $11. The portions were huge, and the food was good. It’s the restaurant with good value for money for sure.
I talked with the guy at the shop. He said that this restaurant has been around for 18 years but he took over the place from his cousin just 3 months ago. He mentioned that after COVID, with the increase in homeless people, business has been tough.
I really hope this kind of place doesn’t go out of business. If I’m in the area again, I definitely want to visit.
The interior is old but this restaurant is perfect for getting a lot of food at a low cost.
They are open until 7 PM, so everyone should give it a try.
