I’m a city girl and would not have expected such good food “ out in the middle of nowhere”. But I had just about the best Cobb salad I’ve ever had in this little place. There was a list of bottled beers that had about any kind of bottled beer a person would want, including some imports. The tiny grocery store had every thing you could imagine ever having forgotten to bring along. Probably not worth making a detour from the interstate, but definitely worth checking into if you’re in the area. Service was cheerful and efficient, ambience was clean and pleasant.

Great place for a hot meal. Great food and super friendly staff. They made us feel like part of the community even though we were strangers just passing through. Kim and Jeff built this place from the ground up. It has a grocery store, bar, and restaurant. Highly recommend.

While passing by we saw their neon open sign on and was more curious than committed , till we got inside and was pleasantly greeted. Took a look at the menu and tada, we are staying to eat. So glad that we did. At the time there were only 2 other customers. The grocery part was decently stocked, very spacious, with plenty of options on seating. We selected sum appetizers along with our main courses and everything we excellent. Our waitress was very kind, attentive, yet left us in peace while somehow being a Ninja removing empty plates almost unnoticed. If you are passing through Portal on the way to Mexico you should truly stop here to eat. Or maybe returning from Mexico heading to i10, this is 1 stop that will be worth the super short detour off 80. When we return to this area, this will be our stop again for sure.

Restaurant has amazing food to say the least. Can tell the local food goes into it. The entire staff is in my opinion some of the best staff I’ve seen in some time. Grocery area had a decent selection for the area in my opinion with the willingness to accommodate to special requests. Like selling us a single bun cuz we only needed 1 not the entire pack.

Great food at great prices. They have a better beer and wine selection than most. I only wish I lived closer and could eat here more often. I’m definitely stopping by every time I drive by now.

We found this place in the middle of nowhere and the food was actually great. Amazing deserts too. There is a small market and more inside. Great place to stop if you visiting Portal or the surrounding area. Even if you have time get off the I-10 and go visit.

Fort an out of the way restaurant, this is a gem with outside seating along with inside. They have music one evening a week and the did us good. Full bar service.
