This place is delicious. The tortillas are all handmade, and it honestly reminds me of my tías cooking or the tacos your parents would buy you outside of church (iykyk). The carne asada tastes fresh and perfectly grilled, and the chicken is nicely seasoned.

The drinks are just as good. They’re well made and perfectly balanced. Their horchata is to die for…if you like watery horchata, this might not be for you, but if you’re into thick, creamy, sweet horchata, this one is it. Same goes for the carne asada tacos 10/10. The beans are also really good, almost chili-like in flavor.

Happy hour is excellent. The bartender recommended a strawberry margarita and it was spot on. The staff in general is super nice and helpful,.

It is a smaller spot, so it can definitely get packed, but the carne asada is worth it.

If you’re an Arizona native, you might remember a few months ago when a Michelin-star chef was in town doing a pop-up. These tacos are exactly what I wanted those Michelin tacos to be. They are bomb.

This place is a gem! The best part is everything on the menu is cooked with heart, and you can taste it in every bite. The crew always makes you feel at home, and everything is made in house. Taco Chelo isn’t just creating food, they are curating an experience for your taste buds, and the best part is it won’t break the bank. Taco Chelo is a must try spot whether you are in Tempe or DT PHX. ❤️

This place is amazing. We went during a pregame rush for ASU Football and the way they took care of their customers were great. So friendly, professional and efficient. We got tacos, shrimp ceviche, and drinks. It was all delicious. It was cool to have a front row seat to watch them work quickly to get food out. This is a must try stop!!

We love the original Taco Chelo in Phoenix. We were thrilled to see this new one open up. It’s just as delicious at the Phoenix location and the margaritas are on point too! Cute place for a quick lunch. You won’t be disappointed.

Tried this place for the first time, and it was delicious and a very fun atmosphere! I had the chips, salsa, and guacamole, chicken taco, and fish taco. The chips, salsa and guacamole was a nice starter, and the fish taco was amazing! It is really good with green salsa! I did not like the chicken taco, because the chicken was too firm and chewy for my liking. Furthermore, the flavors did not work for me. Overall, great place, very inviting and affordable! I will be back!

I would give this restaurant 10 stars if possible. The food was so flavorful and fresh. The best tacos I’ve ever had. They also made us NA drinks which was a really nice touch. The service also great, the host explained that we ordered at the counter and to sit wherever we liked. The patio was cute and just the vibe we were hoping for with fun music playing. Would love to go back the next time we are visiting this area.

My newest favorite place to get tacos in Tempe- especially during happy hour everything I’ve tried on the menu is amazing. My favorite is the chicken tacos. There’s an open kitchen, which is a must for me. I love the environment as it’s fast service, family oriented, and right in the middle of Tempe, which makes it convenient to stop at other places when you’re out grabbing a bite. Feels and looks very authentic.

I got the fish tacos and asada tacos. The fish was pretty good. Not as good as in Cali. Would eat again. The asada wasn’t the best nor the worst but could use more flavor. I also had the horchata and it was very good. Would come here again for the fish tacos i also told the worker at the register I didn’t want pickled onions on my tacos n they still put it on my tacos..
