This was our first time here. The staff was really friendly, and the place had a nice vibe, not modern, but cozy. They have a couple of vegan options, which is nice. The food was good, but it took 40 minutes to come out, which felt like a long wait The bakery has a nice selection. I got a drip coffee. It was warm, not hot. I wish it was hot. Overall, a good spot for breakfast!

I ordered two New York Style cheesecakes from Cristaudo’s for a get together at my house and they were absolutely delicious. I ordered one with caramel drizzle and one plain (I added the cherries) and they were both a hit. They even let me pick them up on a day when they were closed to the public. I will for sure be ordering cheesecake from them again. Highly recommend.

Amazing takeout breakfast! Full of fresh ingredients, all made from scratch. It’s hard to find food that’s such high quality. Huge breakfast menu, and awesome donuts, fresh bread, and other baked goods available too.

When I think of cute little college town restaurants/Shops, I’m imagining a place like Cristados. It’s adorable and I can’t wait to return. They have food, they have things cool little trinkets and what not. The staff has also been friendly. They’re a record store connected to it now – which is dope. I like it.

It’s a nice place where you can do many things. You can have a take out cup of coffee, or tea, or whatever drinkable. You can stay inside and drink some cocktails. You can order delicious, exquisite food made from ingredients sourced locally (and there’s plenty of vegan and vegetarian options), and enjoy it in a nicely decorated dining room. You can buy sweets and pastries to go. You can order cakes for your event. You can finally buy hand crafted items from local artists. A lot, right? Need to come back and explore more!

The. Bread. Is. Amazing!! We had King Cake french toast and an egg sandwich. These are two very different styles of food and both were exceptional. They are even affordable! The staff is friendly and helpful even though we came close to close, and the atmosphere is cosy and fun! What a great place!

Such a wonderful vibe. The music, the food, and don’t forget the cookies. Try the date walnut cookie and thank me later. For good measure buy a pink cookie, chocolate dipped peanut butter cookie, and a magic bar. I came back after 20 years, the location is different but the bakery and most importantly the bakers / owners are back in ownership and things have never been better. You need to experience a place that is part of Carbondale history.

This is definitely a local Carbondale spot. Bakery and bar in one. There was plenty of seating and some yummy cookies and muffins. The staff had computer issues during payout, but were friendly and helpful.

Beautiful eclectic decor vegan/ vegetarian/ omnivore selections, unique coffees, soda, juice, single beer, cards, and gifts. Staff, laid back. Omelets, lunch, and frozen to go items.
You can order and pay for frozen items a head for particulars.
I picked up soups, and full for 6 lasagna, etc., frozen to go. All were wonderful, not cheap but reasonably priced. You can prepare at the Hilton if you have a kitchenette or take home in a cooler on the amtrack or bring it as a host gift to someone putting you up, or to accommodate your own special dietary needs.
Close to the train station, next door attached is an equally lovely vinyl record shop. Beyond that, a bar with a patio called “the celler.”
LOVE that Carbondale has owner occupied businesses. The kind of social capital that keeps communities strong and money LOCAL.
Big shout out to Carbondales tourism director Dena, who navigated me there in all my decrepitude past all the construction and “Off the rails” downtown festival preparations.
