I brought a tour group (bachelorette party) on a coffee tour and this stop was perfect. We were there for the Roasterie’s 30th anniversary celebration so we tasted their Birthday Cake Latte. The outside patio is perfect for a larger group, or if you’re bringing your dog out for a pup cup. Friendly staff.

Great atmosphere, great baristas, the menu and quality of drinks, however, are subpar for KC. They up-charge a flat fee of $1.25 for nondairy milks, for each drink, even cortados (2oz). If you got a non-dairy cortado twice a week, you’d be spending an extra $10/ month on 16oz of nondairy milk. It’s unfair to people of color who are largely lactose intolerant. They should include plant based milks into their general pricing.
Go to Blip Coffee Roasters, Oddly Correct, or PH Coffee to skip the rake.

Discovered today the secret that most Kansas Citians who love coffee already know: the Roasterie is a solid choice for those who love good coffee and pastries. Ordered a cortado and a couple pastries. The cortado was perfect, accompanied by a carbonated mineral water and a small disc of André’s espresso chocolate, gratis. There was a problem with pastry (not as described), and despite the snafu (for which the barista offered everything from a replacement to a refund), I was ecstatic with the experience. The pastry I did have was delectable (all the pastries in the house were provided by the exemplary folks at Ibis), and the service over and above.

Clean, well lit, quiet little place! It’s a popular spot to do homework. The staff are friendly, know many customers by name, and are great to work with if you want a custom drink.

This is one of my favorite coffee shops of all time. It’s got the best environment, and I love the aviation theme. The coffee is spectacular, as are the pastries. We visit every time we’re in Kansas City. It’s a must-stop.

The Cappuccino tasted like straight water. The muffin is too sugary and the Chorizo was mushy. The one at KU is way better. $40 down the drain.
