Amazing restaurant with excellent food and I’m excited to come here again. We came here as a group of 5 and loved every single dish we ordered.

Our apps included the (1) Spicy Chickpea Bowl, Ras Fries, Spinach Briouats and Spicy Shawarma Hummus.

The briouats filling’ was a lovingly creamy texture due to the spinach and cheese with an amazing and complex garlic flavor, all wrapped in flaky phyllo. It also came with a spicy sauce which I even used with the pita I thought was brilliant. The spicy shawarma hummus was also delightfully creamy and served with pita. It wasn’t grainy at all and I’d even describe the taste as delicate and nuanced- not too spicy at all.

The chickpeas and fries were simple but great- I’d like the fries to come with a little more seasoning or mix the seasoning more evenly, but there was another spicy harissa-based sauce it came with that was great.

Our entrees were the (1) Chicken a l’Orange, (2) White Fish and Bouillabaisse, (3) Shepherd’s Pie, and the (4) Lamb Tagine Makfoul.

Overall, the portions of all the entrees were huge! Almost all of us took our meals home, and that’s not because they were loaded with carbs. The orange chicken dishes had an amazing natural-tasting orange sauce that had a nice amount of heat with tender on-the-bone chicken and couscous. The shepherd’s pie was also amazing with smooth potatoes and a very complex sauce which had a similar super warming heat to it. The lamb tagine had so much meat and the cinnamon and honey were perfectly balanced to the dish and came with a bowl of rice.

I’ve eaten many different cuisines in Manhattan and this restaurant is among the best.

I was looking for an authentic Moroccan experience after our trip to Morocco earlier this year and Tara Kitchen was a great choice. I was specifically looking for appetizers and entrees I tried on our vacation which led me to order Shrimp pil pil and lamb meatballs with poached eggs. Everything was delicious. I would visit again. We had the vegan chocolate cake dessert with pistachio mousse and a mango cheesecake.

We visited this Moroccan gem as a group of 8 coworkers to celebrate a birthday, and it was such a lovely experience from start to finish. We made a reservation two days in advance, and when we arrived, they were ready and waiting for us, such a great first impression!

We ordered a variety of dishes: rice chicken bowl, boneless chicken, golden chicken, shrimp pil pil, Moroccan shepherd’s pie, and lamb kebab. Every single dish was flavorful and satisfying. I personally had the shrimp pil pil, and it was perfectly spicy with a rich, bold flavor, just the way I like it. The portions were generous, and we didn’t have to wait long for our food, which made the whole experience even better.

After such a hearty meal, we were hesitant to order tea, but we’re so glad we did! We shared two pots of Moroccan tea, and it was the perfect way to end the meal—refreshing, great for digestion, and served in the cutest little glasses.

The ambiance was authentic and full of charm, with a warm, welcoming vibe. The staff were incredibly attentive and kind, even surprising the birthday guest with a beautiful slice of cake, a candle, and a sweet gesture involving singing, such a thoughtful touch!

We’re already planning to come back and try more dishes. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for delicious Moroccan food and a genuinely lovely dining experience.

Wow, what an experience this was! This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in NY, I wish I had discovered it earlier. The food was so delicious, I can’t quite name my favorite because all of them were favorite! We got some pita bread with dips, carrots with hummus (which was far from the ordinary), egg rolls (wow! maybe my favorite?), chicken sandwich, orange salad, mango dessert, and more. And I shouldn’t forget the cocktails! Go for the salt and pepper martini if you like non-sweet drinks. The service was also outstanding. Omar really made us feel welcomed and took great care of us. Will be counting days to my next visit…

The lamb burger on the lunch menu was excellent! It’s a big burger, fries were good too. Staff said all of their meat is halal.

Loved appetizers including the chicken shawarma hummus. The pita bread was sooo fluffy and delicious! Also the shrimp appetizer (forget exactly what it was called) was also so good — these sauce was amazing. Aside from that the entrees —I got the eggplant — were ok, not as good as the appetizers.

Such good food I actually can’t wait to try more of the menu! The chicken tagine with fig and almonds is so warm and satisfying. The fries are seasoned incredibly. And the cocktails are really interesting and yummy. Such a great value for the portion and the area!

I had an amazing meal at Tara Kitchen. I can for brunch and had my favorite. Shakshuka. A Mediterranean tomato stew with eggs. For me one of the best breakfasts one can have.

At Tara Kitchen the dish is greatly flavored with some exotic Moroccan spices and was amazingly delicious. As I loved the place and hung on for a while I got to try some of their other signature dishes. Yummmmmmelicious !

As i staid I tried a cocktail here and it was just as good.

A real hidden gem. Totally loved it
