Please do not ever waste your time at this establishment. I ordered 10 wings at 11:30. I am just now getting these raggedy wings at 12:45. I love supporting small businesses, but this level of lack of preparation and lack of respect for customers’ time I can’t support. Beware!
Not only did one order of wings and yams take over an hour, but this was by FAR, the absolute worst yams I HAVE EVER HAD! Including out of the can.
Plus, the wings were like the plastic ones that are rubbery out of the bag. I’m horrified by this place. Something has to change.

Absolutely amazing…Every part of it. First off the staff was amazing super sweet, from when I called them on the phone and when met them in person. Extremely helpful and professional.
Second, they were super personable, relatable, and friendly, and took the time to make me feel welcomed.
Third, MY GOODNESS…the food. I thought they kidnapped my mother and had her in the back cooking for them because it taste like homemade heaven. To get a meal like this at almost midnight is absolutely amazing. This is definitely rare. It tastes so good.

got home, the flavor was perfect. Nothing about this dish needed anything else. Really the ONLY issue I had was a little miscommunication because i would have went with what I was originally going to order had I known they were all the same wait time. But that’s alright, because I’ll just have to go back and try it next time. Everyone go try them and let’s get them above their current rating.

Hey Dana ! I’m going to first say I did not know how to get into the place ( you have to go through the back ) but once you hit that door you smell nothing but nostalgia , the smells reminded me of my mother’s cooking. This spot never disappoints. Every dish has that homemade taste that takes you back to Sunday dinners with family. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and it’s always delicious. The staff is attentive, the prices are fair, the club was a little shady at first ( I didn’t buy any drink’s ). 10/10 recommend.

Let me just say… The banana pudding is NOT worth no damn 8.99! I thought it was about to be bussin for that price. But nope nope nope and nope. And the yams are canned. Canned?????? For 18 million dollars??? Now, the portions are big. I can say that. The chicken I got looked like a Fred Flintstone turkey leg and thigh. The dressing was sweet if you’re into that type of thing. The cornbread was a winner! Probably won’t be a return customer.

Trash food. 3 day old pork chops . Talk to supposed daughter of owner today 7.30.25 and there no way that recipe passed down. I got greens in my cabbage. Cabbage with greene no seasoning. This no soul food. Save ur soul n order else where. So bad I got 15$ back n I’m still not happy.

I was charged 16 dollars and never receive my food . Very disappointed in this transaction. Actually fraud committed as I never received any food for my paid transaction. Had bar manager even verify that it was never received. Food is good but I don’t think I would ever go back to this place again. Such a nice person who could not resolve an issue as easy as this. Don’t serge food if you can’t deliver it!!!!!!!!!!

First, based on other reviews: Use DoorDash to order. Second, the beef ribs, omg they melt in your mouth. Best kept secret in Dayton. Mac and cheese, okra, both fire. Potatoes and onions I personally wish were crispier, but we’re still solid 7.5/10
